Trigger shot question

I am on my second cycle of Follistim and Ovidrel injections. After you inject your trigger shot when are the REs telling you to do the BD? The RE who was filling in for mine last cycle said either 24 hours post trigger or once 12 hours and again 36 hours post trigger. Is this pretty common? Just curious what other couples are doing.

Never done TI with trigger - only IUI's. That said, you are supposed to ovulate 36 hours after trigger...so people that do one IUI do it 36 hours past trigger. But those that do back to back usually do it at 24 hours post trigger and again at 48 hours past trigger - this way you have sperm waiting on the egg to drop, and new sperm getting there before the unfertilized egg dies. (It lives about 24 hours so from 36 hours post trigger to 60 hours post trigger). And of course, most of us are told to have sex night of trigger (if you trigger at night) but that is so the sample for "go time" is fresh. Personally, if you have no MFI issues - I would have sex at the 24 hour and 48 hour point for best chances.

This is my first cycle doing the exact same treament as you. I haven't triggered yet (we are hoping by Friday). I was told that as soon as I trigger, I am to BD for the next 4 days.

We are on the same time frame. I triggered last night and was instructed by RE to have sex last night and then again on Wednesday evening following the IUI on Wednesday morning.
