Birth control while BF

I posted this in my May 2013 blog, but thought id check here as well...
I had my 6 week pp doctor appointment yesterday and decided I should get on birth control. After being givin jolivette 0.35 I text my sister to ask her what she took. She then said she thinks its the birth control that caused her milk supply to go down. Eventually so much that she had to give her baby formula.
I'm now thinking I should not take this BC and just use condoms. But I really wanted anothe method as well.

Anyone have any experience with this!?

Is that a mini pill?  If it is, for most women, it shouldn't affect your milk supply.  But I think mini pills can affect the supply for some women.  I am on Errin (which I believe is similar to Jolviette), and I haven't had any issues. 

If you're concerned, I would call your doctor to get more information on the pill and its potential side effects.

I used Jolivette (which is a progestin-only pill, or mini pill) for about six months. It had no effect on my milk supply. In fact, I continued to have an oversupply while using it. I switched to Mirena when DS was 6.5 months old, and am quite happy with that. I did experience a drop in supply when I switched, but I suspect it was related to my period coming back, and it wasn't so drastic that I needed to supplement.

After both of my kiddos, Dh and I opted to just use condoms. I know that not everyone likes them but my dh really doesn't mind and I don't care for any type of hormone. Fwiw, I didn't get my first pp period until 11 months with my first and just shy of 9 months this time.
