Birth Control

I had my 6 week pp doctor appointment yesterday and decided I should get on birth control. After being givin jolivette 0.35 I text my sister to ask her what she took. She then said she thinks its the birth control that caused her milk supply to go down. Eventually so much that she had to give her baby formula.
I'm now thinking I should not take this BC and just use condoms. But I really wanted anothe method as well.

Anyone have any experience with this!?

Re: Birth Control

  • The mini pill isn't supposed to affect your supply; however, I have heard some women say that it did. I personally have been taking it for 2 weeks now and haven't noticed a difference.

  • I took it with my first and didnt notice a decrease. I have a friend who did though.
  • I've been on Jolivette for about a week and a half now.  I haven't had any problems with my supply.
  • I have been on jolivette for just over a month and have not noticed a drop in supply. I was really nervous about it but so far no issues. I did have a minor headache for about a week until my body got used to it.
  • I'm on the mini pill, have been for 2 weeks and have noticed no change in supply. Make sure it's not something else like not drinking enough water... That usually is what causes my supply to change. Just a thought.

  • Im using bed sharing a birth control. :-). Jk. But I used condoms between kiddos not only bc I didn't want to have the hormones affect bf, but also I didn't like what my body did when I went off them before ds1.
