Let's beat a dead horse and talk about sex....again!

I truly forgot how much I HATE the pill. Ugh...first of all I need a daily slap on the wrist to remind myself to actually take it. Especially with so much other stuff going on. Second...when I first had sex at 6 weeks it actually was good, I thought maybe even better than before. Now that I've been on the pill for 3 months it hurts so bad I don't want DH anywhere near me. I've always had that problem with bc where I have no desire for sex and if I do force myself through it it's very painful. I tried talking to DH about it and got the typical man answers about why I couldn't just set an alarm on my phone, use lube and stop crying about it. Grrrrr, why hasn't Pfizer made a man birth control yet?

  • Sex was extremely painful for me for like the first 12 weeks.  It's finally good again!  And I know what you mean, I hate taking BC pills.  I actually decided to not go back on this time.  We are just using condoms.  My periods are actually 10% worse on the pill.. weird, I know.

  • I got an IUD in as soon as I could. I don't feel any pain at all, and don't have to remember taking the pill.

I think it was the best thing for me, specially because I'm so forgetful!

  • DH and I have done the deed 4 times since getting clearance from the doc. It was extremely painful for the first few minutes the first time, but got more comfortable as it went on. Luckily, DH is quite patient and is great at self-control. It has gotten slightly easier each time with the "accommodation period" (as I call the first few minutes) getting a little briefer each time. I admit, the inevitable discomfort has decreased my sex drive, but lots of patience from DH and lots of lube (sorry, if TMI) have made it a lot easier.

I also try to remember, it can't hurt this way forever. If it did, no families would have more than 1 kid!
