Surrogacy in India?

Just wondering how many people have heard of or considered Surrogacy in India as an option?   My family just found out about it last year through friends of ours who brought home a healthy baby girl in Feb 12, so my sister and BIL signed up with a clinic in Delhi.  We brought home their twins June 1st.

We've been talking about the subject in general terms lately, and we're wondering how many people actually even know that this is a possibility?  We encountered a few minor issues along the way, and have learned so much in the past year.  It's not for everyone, but  I just wanted to put it "out here" to see how many have considered Surrogacy in India?   People are always surprised when they see the boys and know that my sister was never pregnant, so she's honest about where and how they were born.  People are literally shocked!

Re: Surrogacy in India?

  • We aren't on a path that requires surrogacy (yet, at least) but I had poked around online and saw this was a very affordable option. I tucked it away in the back of my mind as something to explore if we ever were faced with this expensive decision. I personally would consider it, but there are a whole heck of a lot of questions and concerns I'd need addressed first.  It's great you personally know someone who has done this with success.
