When did you have your first ultrasound with your LO?

I am just curious.  I was having this conversation with a girl who had her last LO several years ago and apparently she did not have her first u/s until her anatomy scan. I had several before my A/S and I wanted to see what other people's experiences were who had LO's near the same time that I did...

I had my 1st US at 8 or 9 wks pg, it was an internal US

Then a/s at 20 weeks.
Then a follow up at 29 due to issues at a/s and a snake bite.

I think it's fairly standard to only have one ultrasound (the anatomy scan) throughout an uncomplicated pregnancy.

I think it was at 5 weeks with my first and about 8 weeks with my second.

ETA:  After my initial u/s, I got them monthly due to a bicornuate uterus, high fluid level with DS, and GD with DS

Our first was at 6 weeks. I had one each time I went in, whether it was a scheduled routine visit or for bleeding. I also had an nt scan and the a/s. Apparently my dr. is u/s happy.

1st was 20 weeks. then I had one at 30 Weeks and 36 Weeks due to risk of PRE-E.

I had 1 at 14 weeks because the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. Then 18 weeks, and starting at 23 weeks I had one every week until birth because I had a high risk pregnancy.

I had a dating u/s with both around 8-10 weeks. The a/s was the last u/s I had with DS1. I had one in 3rd tri with DS2 because I didn't grow and had lost weight.

I had a midwife and they don't tend to do them in general but I opted to have the anatomy scan so my first one was at 19 weeks. It all depends on the people and their medical care.

Around 8-9 weeks, 12 weeks for bleeding and placenta issues, 20 weeks, 21 weeks because of concerns from the 20 week scan, 28 weeks at the hospital due to lack of movement and bleeding.

weeks five, six and nine - all for bleeding. 20 weeks for anatomy scan and 37 weeks to make sure baby was head down, locked and loaded.

12 weeks NT scan, wwhich was optional but I did in part bc I still couldn't believe I was pregnant

20 weeks anatomy scan

37 weeks because my fundal height measurement stopped "growing" and I stopped gaining weight. They wanted to make sure all was well.

The only one that was really routine was the 20 week one.

However, had that not been the case, the ultrasounds would have been as followed:
Dating ultrasound ONLY if you had no idea when your LMP was. This isn't a standard thing, it's only for people who call to say they are pregnant and have no idea when the first day of their last period was. Optional NT genetic testing scan at 12 weeks Anatomy scan at 20 weeks
They don't do any other ultrasounds at my OB's office unless it's for medical reasons example: followup u/s if they didn't get everything they needed at the anatomy scan, which we had to do because all 4 chambers of Jack's heart weren't clear.

This is how our office was as well. We had 12w, 20w, and then six or seven after that only because there were concerns.

I only had ultrasounds at 9 weeks and 21 weeks. I had an uncomplicated pregnancy, so my OB didn't feel that I needed any additional ones.

I had a crazy amount of ultrasounds.  I had a dating ultrasound at 6ish weeks then another one 2 weeks later since they weren't able to find the heartbeat at the first ultrasound. then monthly plus ultrasounds due to a myriad of reasons from being high risk to baby issues. They high risk doctor admittedly was ultrasound happy.

For DD, at 7w in the Dr. office, then 13W for the nuchal translucency screen with the better quality machine. 

I had good insurance back then.  This pregnancy I'm getting my prenatal exams on a military base, and I had an in office u/s at 10w to confirm viability, but I don't get the real equipment until my a/s.  It sucks, esp since they won't do the a/s until 22w.

I had an early one, because of cramping at 6 weeks. I had the regular dating ultrasound at 9 weeks. At my 12 week Apt. the Dr. was an hour behind and did a quick ultrasound, because he felt bad! then at 13.5 weeks I had the NT scan. At 16 weeks my Dr. did a quick ultrasound instead of chasing the baby around for the heartbeat. Then I has my AS at 20 weeks. I also had a few at the end because of high blood pressure and pre e.

All of them were before 6 weeks, with the exception of this baby that was at 10 weeks because of sheduling conflicts. All were for dating.

With my first baby in 2008, I had my first around 12 weeks because I opted to have the first trimester screening (NT scan etc.). If I hadn't chosen to do that, the only ultrasound I would have had would have been the 20 week anatomy survey.

With my 2012 baby, I got an early ultrasound for dating purposes because I got pregnant without having had a period after my IUD was removed, and I got an ultrasound during my CVS at 11 weeks. If I hadn't had the uncertain conception date or the first trimester testing, again my only ultrasound would have been at 20 weeks. (I had a few more ultrasounds in my third trimester, but that was because of complications, not standard procedure.)

Had I known when I got pregnant I only would have had an anatomy scan (which are oop with my insurance) and then my BPP at 40+ weeks. As it was I and a dating us that was at 7w3d, anatomy scan, and BPP.

I had a gagillion. First was at 5w3d with my RE due to loss history, another with the RE at 7w3d, then over to the OB at 9w. I think when it was all said and done I had 10 or 11. After we got past the loss milestones I ended up having a 2 vessel cord that they monitored me for. My practice does 3 standard u/s--a dating at 8-10wks, A/S and then a 3rd tri growth scan. My first u/s for this baby is on Thursday! (6w5d)

With Ethan, it was around 6 weeks, but I had a loss right before getting pg with him. I had another around 13, then 19 and then a few more after that for different medical reasons.
