Completly Confused...Please Help

My last period was June 6th, 2013.  My Husband & I had sex on June 21, which according to my period tracker app. should of been when I ovulated.  We had no sex prior or after, just that date.  According to the app. I was suppose to start my period on July 5th which puts me at 3 days late as of today.  I took a hpt on July 5th, 6th, 7th, & were all negative.  I'm now 17dpo.  Last night around 8pm, I started feeling a little crampy. Not pms crampy, just wierd crampy.  It's actually more annoying than hurting. From 1-10 the cramping is a 2. From 1-10 the annoyingness of it is a 12. But the cramping isn't in the same spot. It starts above my belly button for a little while then stops. Then right at my belly button for a little while then stops. Then below my belly button for a little while then stops. Then right at where my pubic hair starts for a little while then stops. I also feel like something is tugging at my belly button from the inside, like it's attatched to a string. I started spotting at 11:18pm last night. It started extremly light, only when I wiped. Then around 3am we went to the bathroom so obviously I checked again. Still extremly light. It was more like straight discharge faintly tinted pink. Woke up at 7am today, had to pee again, obviously I checked. A little darker, but still a lot of discharge with it. Normally when I have my period it's straight blood. I usually have to wipe about 4-6 times just to get it all. My first day is usually heavy as heck, right from when I start to my 3rd day. I always wear 2 pads at once. Usually I have to change them both out every 4 hours. I've had the same 2 pads on since 11:18pm last night. I have no pms symptoms that I normally get. I usually have severe cramping in my stomach that goes into my lower back. My muscles ache in my thighs to where I can barely walk, it usually feels more like I ran a marathon.  My boobs are a little achy. I cry at everything. I have been feeling a little sick to my stomach on & off.  I have been tasting metal.  I've been so tired lately, waaaaaay more than normal, in fact all I want to do is sleep. Is there any thought in your mind I could be pregnant? I'm so confused. Help!! And thank you in advance!!

  • Those period tracker apps are useless, unless you're charting your waking temps you don't really know when or if you ovulated. If you've had 3 negative hpts, you're not pregnant. Sometimes cycles change unexpectedly and for no reason. If you're recently off hormonal birth control that can purchase things out of whack, too. If you are TTC, pick up a copy of the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility, visit fertilityfriend.com and take their free tutorials to learn how your body really works.

  • I'm sorry.  I forgot to write in there that the first pregnancy test automatically came up negative.  The other 2 came up negative, then about 4 or 5 minutes later you could see a faint blue line where the positive control was suppose to appear, on both.  But like I said, very faint.  I was trying to think of everything I wanted to write & was typing so fast.  Maybe I thought it while typing but forgot to include that part in there?!
  • Never look at a test after the alotted time period. Blue tests especially are bad about evaporation lines that look like faint positives but aren't. Stick with pink dye tests.
Keep testing once a week until you get a positive or reach 60 days without a period. If you hit 60 days, see your doctor.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • The problem with a "period tracker app" is that it assumes your ovaries have access to the app and plan their egg release accordingly. ON AVERAGE, ovulation occurs somewhere around CD 14. That means that a lot of women ovulate before CD14 and a lot of women ovulate after CD14 - sometimes long, long after. Your phone app saying that you "should" have ovulated on a certain day doesn't mean squat.

Blue dye tests are notorious for showing a faint blue line after the time limit is up for the test to be read. Pink dye tests tend to be more reliable.

I agree with PP who said to check out Fertility Friend. I used it when trying to conceive my son, and I was able to learn a lot about my body and increase my chances of getting pregnant.
