Bleeding after a D&C/D&E

After finally getting into a gyno last week, I was able to get scheduled to have a D&C while I was still off work.  So thursday I went into the hospital and had the procedure done, although as I was being put out I was told them were just going to use suction rather than scrapping my uterus.  Not sure if that's typical or if that changes the bleeding time?

But I felt much better almost immediately after the surgery.  I had started to miscarry naturally two days prior to the surgery and was in alot of discomfort with cramping and heavy bleeding.  The day of the surgery after I went home I had some heavy bleeding (nothing near the filling a pad in an hour oranything though), and no cramping.  The bleeding lightened up over the weekend although remained bright red.  I thought I was lucky and they had really cleaned me out well and I was told I could go to work on Monday (today).  Of course, last night I start getting cramps and passing lots of blood clots.  

How long did this go on for exactly?  I made the assumption that directly after the surgery would be worse, but now my body is passing stuff again so I'm just curious what everyone else's experiences were?  With my first miscarriage it was very early and I just miscarried naturally, so this is new to me.

They called mine a D&E too. I bled on and off for about a week and a half. It came and went and was mostly light but I did have a few clots and periods of heavy bleeding. I had next to no pain.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me.  I was surprised by how light the bleeding was right after my D&C and for the next few days.  Three days later I was bleeding a lot heavier and had clots.  This lasted for 2-3 days.  Then I pretty much spotted off and on for the next two weeks.  I couldn't wait for it to all just be over.  I'm sorry for your loss.
