Vasospasm anyone?

So today DH and I took a baby CPR course. The nurse there seemed to think I have nipple vasospasm when she saw my nipples after breast feeding. I have all the symptomswhite nipple after a feed, throbbing burning and tingling pain. I have a doc appt wed, but in the meantime has anyone had this and what did u do to fix it? Did it go away eventually?

I believe I was experiencing vasospasms when DD was a few months old. On my left side I'd start having pains a little bit after she nursed and sometimes it was excruciating and would go on for hours. I saw an LC and she had some good suggestions (applying heat right after she nursed was nice). Eventually they went away on their own!

I had those when DS was about 4 months old.  Toe curling pain.  They'd blanche (turn white) and then have vasospasms (kind of like a burning, throbbing pain) for up to two hours afterwards.  If I remember right, a warm damp compress was what helped.  The number one thing that helped though was to fix DS's latch.  Without fail each time I'd have an issue like this (cracked nips, clogged duct, etc) it was when he'd gotten lazy with his latch.  It went away really quickly when I got his latch back on track.

My vasospasms were secondary to a nipple infection. I required a couple rounds of antibiotics to clear the infection up, then the vasospasms went away entirely and never came back.

Thanks ladies, i tried the heat compresses last night and they seemed to be helping. Also making sure to check the latch every so often. Hopefully I can get this sorted ASAP! Ouch it sucks!!:
