Not okay. Just call the midwife. Most likely the person on call will phone in an Rx to your nearest 24 hour pharmacy. Why suffer all night? Those UTIs move FAST.

What is the alternative? Going to the ER now? What can they do? nbsp;What is your fear for what may be going on?nbsp;Have you ever had a kidney stone? Or any issues with your kidneys? On the surface it sounds like some UTI symptoms but the actual pain in the kidney throws me a little. Whenever I have had a UTI I go from "I have to pee constantly and it burns a little" to "OMG that is totally blood in my pee" within a matter of hours so it was always more clear to figure out what was happening. nbsp;nbsp;
I'm worried about having a kidney infection. The burning sensation got worse all day and now fever and kidney pain freaks me out a bit.

i would side eye any practioner that is going to call in antibiotics without any confirmed diagnosis. Unless I am missing something from what Rondack has posted, she isn't sure if she eve has a UTI.
Well, she should call anyway. You can diagnose a UTI over the phone; the symptoms are usually pretty obvious. I've always had an Rx called in when it was the middle of the night or a weekend; I was never told to go to urgent care. Same thing when I had mastitis.
I don't think my experience is uncommon.
At any rate. Bottom line is: not okay to wait. Call.

Rondack, it is the job of the nurse line to answer your questions.nbsp; They answer all sorts of insane calls from pregnant women.nbsp; Call them now and they'll give you an answer.I'm sure it's fine, but you're not going to rest until you hear from a professional that it is 100 okay, so go do that.

No, you cannot. It requires a urine test.
So if you called your gyno now and said you have burning when you pee and pressure in your lower abdomen, your doc would send you to the ER? Or would she call in a prescription and tell you to follow up the next day?

He would tell me to go to urgent care or to go in to urgent care or my PCP the next day (unless he happened to have an early opening, which is not likely). This is not an OB issue.
Oh.
Well, mine would and has called it in. Also for mastitis. I've had different doctors do it too. It was nice to have relief within 30 minutes. Sucks to be you, I guess.

Am hoping you either called the advice line or went in already. The last time I had a UTI (which came on FAST - as in 3 hours after slight discomfort.started, was crying in pain) was able to diagnoise over the phone but they asked 5 times if I could be pregnant, and if sure was not pregnant because would need to be seen if that was the case because could be other things as well.

Thanks, will do.
Really?
I feel crummy but not that bad.
Yes, really. I was hospitalized for week.

I had one with DS1 and when it ruptured I felt awful with a fever and back pain. Then it spontaneously resolved.
