Boy name help: full name for "Dex"

I've been in love with the name Dex, but haven't decided on the fn for our little guy.Wanting some opinions on the following names. 

 Dexter (for obvious reason, but neither me or DH really loves. Also makes you think of TV show?)

Deacon (this is my top choice, but further jump from Dex)

Declan (growing on me...)

 

What's your favorite? Any other options?

I like Dexter, but can't separate it from the show.


EDIT: I don't get a NN of "Dex" from any of the other name. I think you'd have to make up something a la Dexton or something if you don't want to Dexter but made up names are NMS.

Yea, I'm gonna vote for Dexter.

Dexter is my favorite, but I think Declan works just as well for nn Dex. (People use nn Jax for Jackson or Jackie, so I don't think its much of a stretch.)

I don't care for Deacon because I don't like Title names. To me, this is like naming your kid Pastor, Major, or Doctor.

I know of a Declan that goes by Dex, so it's not entirely unheard of.

I would say Declan. Dexter is the most obvious choice, but yes all I can think of is that show and I've never even seen it. I don't think Deacon works as well.

I know of a Declan who goes by Dex. And this is one of our picks, too! :

We have a Declan, and we sometimes call him Dex. More often than not, he's called by his whole name, so there's that. I think Dexter is a more natural fit for Dex. If we had named DS Dexter, which we did briefly consider despite being huge fans of the show, we would probably call him Dex more frequently.

Yes, we've thought about that, too! Just trying to sort out all the best options. No matter what, he will be "Dex" to us.

Dexter doesn't really make me think of the tv show, but I don't watch it so that's probably why. I really like Declan though.
