Hi ladies! I pumped for the first time today, just with a manual Medela Harmony. It didn't hurt, but now my nipple is kind of swollen. I googled a little and couldn't find a solid reason except maybe that I was pumping too fast or that the shield wasn't the right size (based on the Medela website, it might be too big, but I don't think of myself as having size small nipples... Maybe?)
Since finishing, it's already going back down to small, but my nipples never look like this after M nurses, so I'm not sure if I did something wrong.
Thanks in advance (I miss you all! It's crazy how we all are on here all the time during 3rd tri and now there is NO time! Thank goodness for iPhone bumping!)

Re: Pumping - swollen nipple??
Same thing - my nipples get big and puffy after pumping. After a few minutes they go back down to normal. If they stay swollen for hours afterward, then I'd be concerned.
Same here - they look humongous in the pump but go back to normal quickly after.
