Took my last pill Friday!!

Hello all! I am so excited to say that I'm officially off of my bcp! DH and I aren't starting to try until November, but since I have PCOS, I want to practice charting a few cycles and see when and if I even ovulate before we start. So a few more months until officially TTC, but still exciting that we took that step to get off the pill! I told my mom and friends, but nobody seems to be as excited as me. Lol. I figured I could tell you girls. : I've been on pnv for a few months and just purchased a bbt and some ovulation strips. Can you tell I'm excited? :

Welcome from another pcos sufferer! Sounds like you are on the right track. The trying to get pregnant board can be a great wealth of information. This is a very exciting time, but I found that telling people opens up for lots of unwanted advice and attention. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen right away, it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive. Good luck!

I'm sorry you didn't get the response you were hoping for from your mom and friends, but don't let them steal your thunder. It is such an exciting time! YAY!

Oh gosh! Thanks for all your support! Now I am second guessing my decision to get off the pill so soon since we would be ttc about 4 months after I get off. I wonder if I should stay on for a month or two longer to have better chances? Now I'm confused. Lol

I just got off the pill this week too (eeee!!!) and we aren't planning on trying until October.  I'm hoping the "rhythm" method will work until then, but if we get pregnant this first cycle on accident, we're ready.  The only reason I would say stay on the pill is if you ABSOLUTELY aren't ready to conceive.  We decided that we'd be ready for an "oops" but if we can wait that would be great.  Make sure you're taking your prenatals and avoiding alcohol/tobacco just in case and best of luck!

Thanks so much! I know you must be excited too to get off the pill!! I did a lot of thinking last night and I just feel like getting off the pill now is what I should do. We are in the same boat.. If an oopsie happens, we will be very happy! But just not quite ready to plan to start until closer to the end of the year. Good luck to you and your DH!!
