Re: Bored? Anyone want to throw their name choices out to be judged?

  • Wednesday, as in Wednesday Addams lol. Probably would never really do it.

Adelheid and Haidee for a girl are serious possibilities for me.

I love Quinne and Caillou for a boy.

  • I'm way late, and new here, but I want to play! DS is Caden Mitchell and DD is Lindley Caroline.

Mitchell is a family name, not my fave but I like that it has meaning for us. Lindley is a spinoff of my mom's name, Linda, who passed away 5 years ago. Caroline is in honor of DH's and my maternal grandmothers, Carol and Carolyn.

Please please please do not use Caillou for a boy! OMG that show is the absolute worst!

I prefer Sunday to Wednesday, however with the screen name "mommymorticia" I get it :)

    Torrin is awesome!

I think it would be so sad if you named one girl Ella and the other ones Wilhelmina or Cordelia... just so unfair.

Her full name is Eleanor. Does that make it more fair?

Not in my book, Cordelia and the W name (can't even spell it without looking) are just way too "old lady" to me... and I say this only because they're not humans yet. :o) With names like this I always think the digging up of old names has gone way too far. Just my opinion though.

I think they are all pretty names, but then I really like longer, feminine names that have nickname options. You could always do Willa or Mina, or Cori or Delia, respectively.

Other options to go with Eleanor: Daphne or Penelope.

Haha, aaww really? I think Caillou is so cute but now I'm trying to picture a grown man with that name and having trouble. Haven't seen the show in years and years.

Thanks! I'm really happy with his name.

Aw, I was hoping to see some "uneek" names, but all your children have lovely, normal names.  I've seen some doozies as a teacher! :)

Mermaids - Wilhelmina  Aria is not my style for sure.  I'm not even 100% sure how to say it and no one would ever spell it correctly, in my opinion.

We have pretty common names - Nathan Lucas ( MN after DH) and Caleb Alexander (MN after a family friend)

If we have a 3rd (which we won't!), baby would be an Andrew or Nora

I love Wilhelmina even though it's a bit long.

I will play! Hudson James and Harper Joy. If we hadn't lost our third, I liked Hazel Jayne (grandmothers name), Hadley Jayne, Hadley Elisabeth, Hayes (not sure of a mn) and Harrison (calling him Harris).

I went to school with a Harris and always thought that was a cool name. I prefer Hazel to Hadley.

    Love the H names.

I love Hudson and Harper. I'm not a huge fan of all the same letter sibsets, but those are really cute. Love Harris/Harrison and Hayes. I am not a huge fan of Hadley, though I do love the one we already have here! Wink

The funny thing is I am not either! But, we fell in love with the name Harper when I was pregnant with Hudson. By the time I was pregnant with her I also loved the name Finley for a girl but DH was deadest on Harper. Now I feel like a 3rd would have to be an H. :) I totally backed myself into it.

hazel is my favorite because of my grandmother. :) dH nixed it though.

Adeline Lace. What do you think? I've had a couple of people unsolicited tell me to my face they didn't like it. I think for some it sounds too old fashioned. Lace is my sisters middle name, so that's where i got that.

I think it's cute. It makes me think of the South lol

Late to the party but I have some:

Emily Patricia (Patricia is MH's deceased mother's name)- DD

Potential names for this LO (MN's are family names):

    Parker Russell

    Liam Russell

    Allison Anne

    DS is Richard Scott.

Richard is for DH's dad who died when DH was little and Scott is my dad's middle name and also DS was born in Scotland.

I tend to get compliments from older people but I had one mom give a disgusted look when I told her his name.

I like Patricia for a middle name.

I like Liam a little better than Parker, but that's b/c I have a rich, preppy WASPy association w/ Parker.

Allison Anne flows well but Allison remains an 80s name for me.

Huh, I hadn't thought Parker sounded like a rich-y name (Pretty in Pink fans?)

And Allison is kind of 80s but it sounds pretty to me lol

  • My girls both have family names but most people think they are just trendy!

    Hadley Ellis and Baylor Paige

I'm in Texas so a lot of people think I named DD2 after a popular University, but it's a family name that I have always loved.
  • DS1 (who I didn't name because he is my stepson but I still LOVE it) is Rudy Lee. Named after DH's uncle.

DS2 is Henry Hayden. Hayden after DH's middle. He was going to be Henry Arlond, but I felt too strong old-fashioned names were too much.

Hypothetical baby number 3 a girl--Amelia Lilly. Boy--possibly Wesley or Elliott.

(Will, not William, I hate nick names after years in pediatrics and kids with names that appeared nowhere in their original name, or kids who didn't even know their "real" name)

Stephenson is after his great grandpa who died a month before his birth who was in his 90s. FIL also has the middle name as does my husband, so he is a fourth generation Stephenson MN.

If anyone is still playing, knock yourselves out with Joseph Pterodactyl. I've yet to run across anyone who hasn't given me an opinion and/or judgment lol.

He was almost Alexander. Would most likely have been Everly (Evie) had he not had a penis. Now I don't like it anymore so hooray for no vag!

DS's name is Sullivan Truett. We call him Sully 90% of the time. I love it and got it from Monster's Inc, not gonna lie. He's having a great time with all the Monster's Inc stuff out right now;) Truett is a family name.

We are having the worst time picking out a girls name this time around. I want something I love as much as Sullivan, but nothing is sticking.

Sullivan; what a great name!  This just struck a chord with me, not sure why, but it's definitely on my radar now.

    Awww. So many nice names.

    Brayden Shawn and Lucas Michael

Ftr I really dislike Shawn but its a family name on dh side and since it was middle name I said fine. Ha

Michael is after my dad and l love it.

I'm not a Brayden, Jayden, Aiden fan, but I like the rest of them. I love Lucas Michael.

Yes, I wish I could have seen that whole Brayden, aiden, caedan, jayden thing coming. Lol

It did not seem that common in 06 when I picked it. I didn't know a single person that was similar. Now....boom.

I think the name suits him of course but if I could go back I would have gone with William or Benjamin.

And I love William AND Benjamin.

Can't go wrong with William! Of course, I might be a little biased...

    Benjamin was a runner up.

My first thought was that Aaron seems a little out of place with the others.
It does if you look at it from an English-speaking point of view, but they all work in Spanish which is a must for us. Along with loving the name, of course  :)

DD1: Esbeidy Xochitl - fell in love with the name when I was single, mn is Aztec (FIL's family is of Aztec origins, DH's grandma speaks one of the dialects which is pretty neat to hear)

DS1: Ricardo Jr (Ricky) - named after DH

DD2: Giuliana Xiomara - loved the name Giuliana, mn is Aztec

DD2: Aaron Natael - only boy name I liked after going through tons, mn is the name my dad had picked out as his boy name but never got to use since he has 3 girls  :)

I'm late to this thread, but am enjoying reading the names. And I have to jump in because I don't think these are out there at all. Ethnic? Yes. But they are fantastic names.

I particularly love these girls' names. Xiomara is a guilty pleasure name of mine. Xochitl is beautiful too. And I've considered Juliana (family name), but prefer the spelling Giuliana.

    Wonderful names!

  • I want to play too! DS is Landry Mark. Landry was a name we both liked. We first thought of it as a first name after seeing Landry Clark on Friday Night Lights. Fictional character, I know, but whatever. And the fact that it's the last name of the best coach in the history if America's team is a bonus since we are Dallas Cowboys fans. Mark is my Dad's name.

Our girl name was Adelaide Marie. If we have a girl, I'm not sure we would use Adelaide. We will keep Marie as a middle name.

Because you're mine, I walk the line....

    Thanks!

And to answer the PP, it was sort of an accident. DH and I fought like maniacs about names. He really hated talking about them and would suggest ridiculous ones just to get on my nerves. One morning I asked about a normal name and he responded with, "Meh. How about Pterodactyl?" I just lost it. I started screaming at him and said " Fine! That's his name! I'm never talking about this again." So he was Baby Pterodactyl the second half of the pregnancy. When he was born, we felt wrong naming him something else. It just seemed to be him. So we bumped it to the MN in case he needs a job or something :)

OMG that's fantastic. We called DS Turd Ferguson before he was born and before we had picked out a name...glad that one didn't stick :P
