Puzzled

Sorry for so many posts and long posts, and if it may seem like im venting which i prob am...Last Monday I stopped pumping our daughter would only drink fresh breast milk not thawed in the nicu and would supplement with similac special care 24 cal.then her doc changed her to neosure 22 cal nothing else, she drank that for 3 days then she got her vaccine and switched to 24 cal, she then thew up a few times wouldn't eat etc, we didn't know if it was the shots or 24 cal, so the dr changed her back to 22 cal and 24 hours she ate very well and didn't throw up. Well was it bc she was on lower cal or bc of the shots being done. No on ones. So then this past Mondayshe was discharged from the nicu and has been on strike wth her bottles had some throwing up arching pushing bottle out etc, took her to dr and she said acid reflux and started her on Zantac. Still no change, she isn't throwing up anymore just small spit ups but refusing the bottle only takes 1 oz or so. So I switched her to enfacare and still same thing. This is so puzzling and upsetting I'm going nuts and so is my husband. Does anyone ANYONE have any suggestions? I have a appt with gi doctor next week Tuesday but I duno what to do. Thank god she came home with a NG tube so atleast she's getting fed. We just want our old baby back who would take at times, 80 percent of her bottles :

Re: Puzzled

  • Im sorry you are dealing with this :(  I dont have alot of reflux experience but I would suggest getting a feeding consult lined up in addition to GI.  I know alot of people who have had success with that dual approach.

  • I'm sorry, feeding issues are really tough. I second pp and have you worked with a speech therapist?
