Advice on Sleeping

My daughter has always been a bad sleeper. She fights it because she wants to always be a part of whats going on, but she normally has 2 day sleeps the first one about 2 hours after she is awake then the second one in the afternoon after lunch and then goes to bed at 7 at night. Just this last week she has been really hard to put to sleep the first nap she just wont go to sleep she does look tierd but just screams so we have to get her out and she is happy to just stay up. She also is happy during the day but as soon as you put her to bed she screams and soon as you go back in her room she stops. She does have a tooth making its way up but thought it cant be that as she stops grizzling as soon as she sees us. I just wanted to know others peoples little ones how many naps are they having at 8 months and should she be staying up longer between naps. Any advice would help me :

Re: Advice on Sleeping

  • DS just turned 8 months. I try to limit him to two naps and a cat nap a day which would look like this.

    8 - wake

    10 - 12 sleep

    2 - 3:30 sleep

    5:30 - 6:30 sleep

He naturally does this on his own most days. Do you have a bedtime routine? I know you said she is happy during the day but is that whether you are right next to her or not? How long has she been in her own room? Does she have a nightlight? She may be afraid of the dark.

  • She has been much better the last few days. I kept her up a bit longer before her first nap and she has gone down much better. She does have a bed routine and she has been in her own room since 12 weeks. How old is your little one and do you mind me asking what feeding times you do. Arabella gets up at 8 everyday but I have to go back to work soon and then she has to start getting up at 5.30 :
