Have you tried laying on your back, but with a pillow propping up one side so you are not on your back, but not on your side? I have the same issues by the end of the day as I spend everyday/all day on the couch.
My last few weeks I just could never get comfortable. Sometimes I would just cry at night because everyone else was sleeping and I couldn't even sit and be comfortable.
I found that sitting in a recliner or our nursery glider using the ottoman worked for about a good hour of sleep. I would sleep in about 4 different places each night...sitting on couch with feet propped on another chair (where I spent most of my time the last 2 weeks), sitting up in bed, sitting in recliner, on left side in bed with pillow between legs/under belly and at my back. I couldn't sleep on my right side because Baby B took up so much room that it actually hurt to lay on that side.
I could never be in one place/position for more than 30 min - an hour anyway so I did alot of readjusting.
I feel your pain and discomfort....it helped me to just think about making it through each night and I'd be one night closer to delivering those babies!
I feel your pain! This is my first day "laying low" and it is torture! I'm just dreading going to the Dr. on Tuesday, I know as soon as I tell him I get a contraction everytime I stand up he is going to put me on permanent bed rest!
How about putting a plastic chair in the shower, and letting the hot water beat on your back for a couple of minutes? It might help you feel more comfortable when you go to lay down again.
