Walker vs Exersaucer vs Jumperoo... what is the difference? Any to recommend? My 4 month old LO is 20 lbs and I think he would really like something like this but they are all blowing my mind!
I like the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. I think it's probably the most popular one out there, everyone I know seems to have one. My baby loves it, as long as your baby has good head control he should be able to use it.
Walkers aren't recommended due to safety concerns. They are even banned in Canada. Exersaucer vs Jumperoo is really the child's preference. Some kids love one over the other, or both, or neither.
My DD had an evenflo exersaucer that bounced and rocked a little. She seemed to enjoy it. We never had a Jumperoo.
One key difference is that exersaucers and jumperoos tend to emphasize the toys for babies to play with, while walkers focus more on the ability to get around. So you'll have to gauge which of those things you think your baby would be most into. 2 things to think about with a walker: you don't want it to be accessible to any stairs (we used ours in the basement only), and they really work best on smooth surfaces, as opposed to carpeting. We bought the cheapo BRU walker and the wheels didn't spin too well, which led to some frustration for my baby early on (4-6 months). If I were going to do it again, I would've spent a little more money for a nicer one.
As PP mentioned, walker are NOT recommended because they post a safety concern.
As for exersaucer vs jumperoo, we only have a jumperoo (FP Rainforest) and DS enjoys it a lot. We've had it since he was 4 months, though it took him about a month before he really started jumping in it (prior to that, he just "sat" in there and played with the toys). DS is now 8 months and he still LOVES jumping in the jumperoo.
In your case, however, you may want to look into the max weight limit of those 2. I'm pretty sure the jumperoo has a weight limit of 25lbs, so if your LO is already 20lbs at 4 months, you may not be able to use the jumperoo for too long. I don't know what the weight limit is for an exersaucer.

We had all 3. Yes there are many safety concerns around walkers but if you watch your child and block steps it's fine. LO loved to stand and step very early on so we got the walker. Exersaucer vs Jumperoo ... If I had to pick on I would pick the jumperoo. We used it way more and it lets LO use those leg muscles and use that energy up! It was great for us.
LO uses an Exersaucer at my parents and her babysitter. They all say she likes it. I have a Bright Starts activity center that has toys/activities in the middle and she can walk around it. LO is 7 1/2 months and finally is able to touch the ground and begin walking in it. There are plenty of activities that keep her occupied for a good amount of time if I need to do laundry, vacuum, etc.
Research has shown that all of these (and bumbo seats) are bad for baby's posture and hips and can delay walking and other development so if you use any of these, I'd limit use to 15 minutes a day...or you may want to research and just skip them all together.
