Need easy supper ideas

Or dinner, whichever you prefer to say...

I'm going grocery shopping tonight and feel like I'm in a rut for meal time. Same thing over and over; some sort of meat, potatoes, a veg. Repeat.

Lay some ideas on me ladies. My work schedule has me getting home at about 7pm so it has to be something easy DH can throw together himself before I get home. To add, DH doesn't like cheese and I can't handle spicy foods.

Re: Need easy supper ideas

  • My two go to easy meals are buffalo shrimp salad and tomato, mozzarella, pasta.

Buffalo shrimp- Toss raw, peeled shrimp in flour. Cook in skillet with a little oil. Turn over once. Toss with Red hot. Put it on a big salad with blue cheese crumbles.

Pasta-  Put cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, thyme, and basil in bowl. Cook pasta. Add warm olive oil to the cooked pasta. Toss with everything else.

  • Breakfast for dinner! We do French toast or pancakes every other week. Or grilled meat and potatoes with salad. My other go to in the summer is macaroni salad

seriously every single thing I am thinking of involves cheese. I cannot even comprehend the sentence "doesn't like cheese." Maybe I need an intervention.

No, no. My DH is the weirdo. I have so many recipes from my mother Kraft magazine subscription, but 90% of the meals involve cheese. I LOVE cheese.

opps. I clearly didn't read the whole thing. Everything I gave you is cheesy or spicy. Sorry.  The buffalo shrimp really isn't that spicy and you could leave the cheese out of his pasta. It wouldn't be hard at all.

  • I've started buying one of those rotiserrie chickens from the grocery store each weekend.  I cut all the chicken off and use it for things like wraps, salads, or to put on pizza.  A staple in our house is pizza!  We buy the boboli crusts and have a supply of sauce/mozzarella in the fridge.  Then we use whatever leftovers we have around as toppings.  The pizza cooks in about 10 minutes once you have it together.  My husband also buys frozen chopped onions and peppers for his pizzas and keeps them in the freezer in a tupperware.  I love pulled pork in the crock pot, and if you make the bbq sauce yourself (super easy), you get to control the spice factor.
