I'm looking for some suggested reading material. We have a 13 month old daughter and are need some guidance on ways of discipline, child behavior, etc. Any recommendations?
We liked Happiest Toddler on the book for some of their ideas (some we just couldn't wrap our heads around) and have found some good advice in the What to expect: Second year. GL!
I have really enjoyed any books I got through Focus on the Family (ChristianBook.com). They break down when and why you should discipline, how to discipline in a reasonable way that is age appropriate, etc. They also have some great ones like "Raising a Modern Day Knight" and "Raising a Modern Day Princess." Even if you aren't strongly religious, there is a lot of insight in the books they offer!
Love and Logic for Toddlers is awesome... I really really enjoyed the book.
Like someone else said, The Happiest Toddler on the Block has some good ideas but some other ones are hard to wrap your head around. <- at the same time, if the ideas work then why not. I liked their approach to discipline.
