Too flowery?

My Grandfathers name is Ross, and I would want to use it as a mn for a boy. If we have a girl, I thought Roselyn would be cute, with the nn Rose or Rosie. My dilemma is, our LN starts with "Lilj-" pronounced "Lilya-"

So, would Roselyn (Rose/Rosie) Lilya-blank be too flowery?

Not necessarily. Depends on how it flows with the last name I guess. If you really liked it I wouldn't let it deter you.

I know, but I can't seem to pull away from names with L's. At least the nn would be L free.

If she would be going by her nickname 99% of the time, I think it's fine. It is a lot of L's, but that's not a problem with he nicknames.
