My baby is 15 weeks and was eating about every 3 1/2-4 hours 5 times a day but recently he seems to be hungry less often and doesn't seem interested in nursing very long. Just wondering how often other babies are eating?
He's been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks (about 6 hours at eight weeks now we are up to almost 10hours nightly)
Re: How many feedings a day? Breast fed
Babies become better eaters and breast milk changes composition as baby gets older. If LO is gaining weight hand has the right number of wet diapers, it's fine.
My DD sleeps thought the night and eats about 6 times a day.

16 weeks here!
She eats every 1-2 hrs during the day and 3-4 feedings between sunset and sunrise so... maybe 10-12 feedings in a 24 hour period? She eats a lot!
Mine will be 4months next week. She feeds 11times a day (sometimes 12 still). Hahahaha it sounds like so many when I actually count!
She is 50th percentile for weight 75th for height using full term charts but was born 5 weeks early.
She is breastfed, she feeds in 4-6min, taking in 2-3oz. She has pretty bad reflux so it is better to have smaller more frequent meals so I am in no hurry to do less feeds. That said, if she took 30-45min like some babies I'd probably feel different!
The only time she goes more than 2hrs is when I go to bed, I feed her and she will usually (but not always) skip one feed and sleep 4hrs, but then she is right back to her 2hr feeds (she's like clockwork).
DD eats 6-7 times a day, for less than 10 minutes at a time. She usually goes every 2-3 hours during the day and then STTN.
ETA: She's 5 months old if you're on mobile and can't see siggies.

this makes me so happy. i was worried DD wasn't eating enough..as she gets distracted a lot..it used to be that she ate for 20-30 mins, now she eats for less than 10 min, unlatches and seems satisfied. We also do this 6-7 times a day..
Last pediatrician appointment he'd gained 3lbs and they were very happy with that (they only wanted him to gain between 1-2lbs)! Even as a newborn in the hospital he was only eating every 3 hours and they said that was fine! (until he had jaundice and I HAD to wake him every two hours!) At his two month appointment I made sure that it was ok that he was eating every 4 hours and the pedi reassured me it was. He eats between 3-5oz at a time. (I only know because I have had to pump a few days and this is the average amounts I got.)
He has never ate more then 7-8 times a day!
Wow! So surprised how different every baby is!
This is pretty much what we do! Except 7:30, 11ish, 3, 6:30 and 9:30... but recently he just seems tired by 9:30 and isn't as interested in eating then!
For the past few days, he's been very "scheduled", though not imposed by me. He eats 6 times (6:30a, 10:00a, 12:30p, 3:30p, 6:30p, 8:00p).
I just read an article recently about how 4 month olds are typically having fewer feedings and eating for a shorter amount of time.
I think the amount of milk does make a difference; if your baby has 3 oz at a time, 12 times a day, it's basically the same amount as another who has 6 oz at a time but 6 times a day instead.
