Hey all,
You all have inspired me to get organized. Actually this will keep DH busy with making all of DS's documents pdf's.
I am looking to organize DS's paperwork: iep's, evals, reports and social security. DS has at least 2 years worth of paperwork as of today.
Can you please tell me what size of usb you used to scan all of your child's paperwork? I will still want to use this through out DS's elementary years (he is in his last year of preschool come August).
TIA
Re: Inspired organization
I would suggest getting a portable hard drive rather than a USB thumb drive. Thumb drives are exceptionally easy to lose, and portable hard drives aren't really that expensive if you don't want a lot of fancy features. Since PDFs aren't typically very large files, I would think that a 250GB drive would get you all the way through high school, but, of course, the technology could change by then. :-)
We do not scan anything. Holy sh!t that would be a ton of work.
I have scanned important stuff to keep on the ipad that I like to look at while googling, like Nate genetics report.
The extra drive vs the USB would also be helpful to store all your photos on, but you would need to keep it in a place seperate from your computer, because I could see that it would be an easy grab for thieves if you are in high crime area. (our house has been robbed twice in ten years)
Happy scanning!!
