I don't get this

The people in the apartment across the hall (or technically across the concrete balcony) have a 3 year old son.  The father work morning shift and takes the kid to daycare or wherever at like 7am and then I guess they do something else because he often times doesn't bring the kid home until 10 or 11 pm, the kid comes running up the stairs bagging on my door and turning my door handle and just completely hyper.  My child would be the devil if she was up that late everynight and then back up before 7 am.  I don't know I am just really anal about DD being on a schedule and also not being so loud and disturbing neighbors.  They don't even correct their son for banging on my door.  I guess there are people out there that don't care about schedules and routine and im just uptight about it.  No real point to this post I guess.

 I thought about this but my door is always locked so I just kinda let it go.  Although I did open the door and look out like WTH and they didn't say a thing.

I would definitely say something. It's not like it only happened once. Not only is it disrespectful, but if I was the father, I'd be worried that someone is going to think they are getting broken into that late at night and come out with a pitchfork.

OP, you have much more patience than I do. I would have either said something directly to the neighbors or spoken to mgmt already about this. The whole banging on your door at 11pm thing is completely unacceptable. Sorry you have to deal with shiitty neighbors.

Sounds like there is a routine in place. Who knows why they have to do that.

As for the disturbance, I'd nicely ask them to stop the kid as yours is sleeping. If it then happens again, let the landlord know.
