Pregnant after 35

So, How is everyone?

I've seen some new posters recently and it's been a while since we've had an official check-in (No pressure Irishgirl!...I hope you are doing well!)

I just wanted to see how everyone is doing...I guess you can call this an unofficial check-in.

How far along are you? Anything going on you'd like to share?

Re: So, How is everyone?

  • I'm 36 weeks, so definitely in the home stretch.  I have an induction scheduled for the 22nd, b/c my doctor doesn't want me to go overdue.  My DD arrived at 38 weeks, so I'm hoping induction won't even be necessary.

I've been getting weekly u/s to check on baby boy and he's been looking great. He kept turning breech, but at last check he was head down, so hopefully he stays that way. My BP has been looking good too, something that's been a minor issue this pregnancy.  I'm trying to squeeze in a little pampering in the home stretch...I had a pedicure yesterday and am thinking a massage might be nice next week.  And just trying to stay cool...being 9 months PG in July in Houston is no picnic!

I'm at 37 weeks and really wanting this to get over with!  I feel huge and all the aches and pains are getting too much for me to handle.  I'm still working (through this Sunday).  So, I'm hoping I'll make it to then and then this little guy will come a little early.  Last appointment I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced.  Let's go!  :)

  • Hi guys! I made it to 19 weeks on Monday! I'm considering this my halfway mark since I was told they probably wouldn't let me go to 40 weeks.

I had my level 2 ultrasound and everything was perfect! I found out my intuition was right, we're having a GIRL!!! So I have been shopping for girl stuff, so much fun!!

My nausea has really subsided, which has been such a relief, but in it's place I have begun to get horrible hip pain and leg cramps. DH got me the boppy pregnancy pillow and it's really helping, but there are some nights it just seems hellbent on getting the best of me.

We haven't begun discussing names yet but I have a list going. I'm sure DH will hate most of them. LOL.

Welcome to all the new members and a shout out to everyone in the home stretch!

  • I understand. I don't know if it's the heat or what, but I feel like I'm even further along than I am. I won't be heartbroken if he shows up some time next week.

  • I'll be 37 weeks on Sunday and we are also still nameless...I guess we should figure that one out soon.  ;-)

Sorry about the hip pain and leg cramps...19 weeks is too early for that :-(

    Congrats on your little girl!

  • Congrats to everyone who is on the homestretch!

I am one of the board newbies. We are cautiously excited for this miracle. My OB had informed me about 2 months ago that I am most likely in the early stages of menopause after I'd went for my annual exam and a possible hysterectomy consult. (We'd been hoping for almost a year and had given up.)   annnnnnd about 3 weeks later we got our +  !!

  • Hi Ladies!!  Congrats to the ladies rounding the corner to the home stretch!!

I hit 15 weeks on Monday.  Starting to see the beginnings of PG belly and not nearly as paranoid about every little thing as I was during the first tri.  Thinking that I'm going to have to buy some maternity wear within the next couple weeks.  I cannot wait until next Sat when I have another OB appt.,  we haven't been since June 5 and it seems like forever!

  • Hello! I'm 15 weeks and so far this pregnancy has been pretty good. I had a lot of morning sickness during my entire pregnancy with my son. This time around, it has only happened a few times. The headaches are worse this time though. I am 99 sure I felt the baby move last night while laying down. It was just for a quick second and very exciting. I almost woke up my husband.

32 weeks on Friday and just chugging along and trying to survive the heat.  Feeling pretty good so far.  Physically I'm ready to get things over with, but mentally I'm not prepared for him to be here yet.

  • Just peeking back in after being on hiatus for a bit to check on you mamas. Congrats and good luck to everyone. Emikat and Abeille- won't be long now, thinking good thoughts for both of you- happy to see you both rolling right along. :)
  • I'm 32 weeks tomorrow. I'm at the point where I'm just tired and ready to meet my son. I'm hot, swollen, battling various aches and pains, and struggling to take a deep breath.

My mantra throughout this pregnancy has been, "I can take anything...as long as the baby is okay." He's doing great! Outpacing the doctors' growth predictions, plenty of amniotic fluid, strong heartbeat. So all is well.

  • Hello Ladies.

Happy 4th of  July! I hope everyone has a nice holiday!

I am only 11 weeks, but this pregnancy is kicking my behind. I feel so tired and sick, three years sure made a difference. I feel huge and I cannot sleep well at all.

Congrats to all that have made it to 30 weeks plus. That is so close now. I have my 12 week ultrasound next Friday. I am very happy to see the baby again.

    Best of luck to all!

  • I'm 31 weeks today. I got a "good" night of sleep last night after waking drenched in sweat night after night during our recent heat wave. I feel more energy now than at the end of the 2nd trimester. I think it is because my blood volume has peaked and now, my muscles are catching up to it. My blood pressure is good, baby is active, and I passed my GD test.

I suspect I have 9-10 more "good" weeks left before delivering the baby girl. So I'm trying to work and play as much as possible before she comes! My DH and I have a few weekend get-aways planned and I am rocking it forward with my work before maternity leave.

We had a regular appt this morning and heard the heartbeat on the doppler which was reassuring. Next big milestone is a/s in 3 weeks, I'm hoping after that my PGAL brain will settle down a little!

  • Hi there!! I'm 27 weeks today and feel so big that I could deliver anyday! Hopefully ill make it to term but I've been waddling for over a month now!
Other than that, all is well as I chase around a toddler and an infant! Geesh I am too old for this, lol!!
  • Hello all... I am 31 weeks today although, at my appt Tuesday, my OB told me I am measuring 5 weeks ahead.  Yippee skip.  She said she THOUGHT he felt normal sized in there but didn't do an US to confirm, which was a little annoying.  I passed my GD test so who knows what is going on in there.  :)

I think that is all... It is late and I am losing my ability to make sentences.  Lol!

  • Hello All,

I am 13 weeks and just trying to get by, its been 10 years since I was last pregnant and this one is kicking my butt!

We have had some loss trying this past year and this one has been a hard road as well, since I am overweight the Dr couldn't find a heartbeat via Doppler last week so now its just a waiting game and its starting to drive me crazy.  I am constantly worrying now and cant wait for my next u/s on the 25th!

  • I am 33 weeks today and this babe is kicking my butt a bit.  It is more than likely that it is my three year old is the one doing the damage.  :)  Everyone who told me that the terrible twos don't exist, but the terrible threes do was right.

I am 38 years old and am set to deliver by c-section at just over 39 weeks.  I am ready to not share my body so closely, but I am not ready for her to be here yet.

  • Newbie to this board, just turned 35 about a week ago. FTM hitting 34 weeks tomorrow. It seems I can't walk more than 10 feet without BH kicking in, I tire easily, and wish I wasn't so scared of giving birth/taking care of a newborn. But otherwise all is good.

  • I don't think I ever introduced myself. I just jumped in and started posting. I'm Elisabeth and I'm 18 weeks 3 days pregnant with baby #3. Our oldest daughter is 11, our second daughter is almost 18 months and we're expecting our son in December. I'll be 36 in a week and a half. All of our babies were conceived without any medical assistance and I feel so blessed to have them because I had leukemia as a teenager and was told by my oncologist when I was 13 that I would probably never be able to get pregnant. I'm feeling well (though a bit sore after my 12 hour shifts as an RN) and my Harmony test came back at <1:10,000 for Trisomies 13, 18, and 21.

I'm so happy to be here with you all! Congratulations on your little ones!
