22 m/o now terrified of loud noises?? Anyone else?

For the past week my DD is now terrified of loud noises like the gardener, helicopter, garbage truck, etc.  She was never scared of these before.   She screams and cries for a long time even after the truck goes by or the gardener leaves. 

How do I help her deal with this fear?

DD just went through this. It was so bad. She would cry every time a door shut. I just took her to what was making the noise, or look out the window to show her it wasn't scary. I want to say it lasted a week and a half.

My DS just turned 19 months and just started the exact same thing. I try to let him explore the sound to liken it to something fun.
