Re: TTT

  • 1. Woke up hungry again last night around 3am.  Cereal has been my go-to middle of the night snack.

    2. Happy for a short work week.

    3. Wish I didn't agree to work on Friday.

    4. Feeling anxious about our A/S next Tuesday, but feeling comforted by my growing bump.

    5. Really anxious to start feeling my little guy move around more strongly and regularly!  I think I have felt him several times, but I always question myself because it's not a regular event and is so mild that I'm not quite sure that what I am feeling is him.

    6. My wife is going to Brownsville to visit her family this weekend.  Unfortunately I can't go because I already agreed to work on Friday before I knew they would be in town (from Mexico where they live).  Bummed I'm missing out and feeling sad about being alone for a few days.

    7. Feeling really disappointed by TX Gov Rick Perry.  Sure, that's a constant feeling, but it's times like this when it is especially disappointing.  Seeing thousands of people show up at the Capitol yesterday to support women's rights, however, felt very encouraging.

    8. Appreciative of a friend who is digging out her maternity jeans for me to borrow.  I have been using the rubber band trick with my regular jeans and when I put them on last Friday to wear to work, I realized that I have outgrown the rubber band!

    9. If anyone needs help deciding on what to buy for baby, I recommend the book Baby Bargains by Denise Fields.  A friend lent me her copy and I have found it to be really helpful.

    10.  Happy to reach the half way mark on Thursday!  Hard to believe.

  • I was late on TTC check in, so I'll be on-time for TTT:

    1. Our families are driving us crazy. Everyone wants something or needs something and it is killing us. For example, my Mom was in the er last night and we had to be there. We brought her home and were confident that she had the right care. My Dad on the other hand was at work and has a history of crying "Woe is me" on facebook so all my Mom's family around the country fears the worst. We are incredibly sick of it.

    2. Along with #2, note that my Mom does nothing to help herself. She has diabetes, chronic pain and other medical problems, but will not listen to us when we try to encourage her with proper eating, juicing, and overall just having some self-care.

    3. I love my DW so much for always protecting me, even if that means making my or her family angry.

    4. On the ttc path, I finally saw a positive digital opk. This was huge for me as I haven't had that result before.

    5. My back is about 75% better thanks to acupuncture and chiropractic. I can not explain how much it is worth the money.

    6. Since my back is better, the acupuncturist is going to focus on my digestion and fertility.

    7. She says she has plenty of time to get things ready, and she is very confident

    8. I'm thrilled about DOMA, but since it didn't help my State, I'm waiting for movement in the right direction.

    9. I'm ready to hop on a plane far away from our families at this point...

    10. I'm sorry I haven't been around as much on the boards! I miss you all!

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.

    1. Today is 12dpiui for me, and CD26. I feel like my period is coming... the "flow feeling" - minus the actual flow - arrived this AM. I think My period will likely be here right on time or maybe a little early. I am also feeling very crampy. I need to mentally prepare myself for our 4th failed IUI, b/c I think there is a 95% chance that this cycle did not work...

    2. Today starts my mini vacation with my wife. I am so excited and ready to relax! T-minus 6ish hours to go!

    3. I would like a day without the threat of a thunderstorm, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen for at least the next 4-5 days. We have had daily thunderstorms and off-and-on rain, and LOTS of humid muggy-ness, and I am not digging it anymore.

    4. I have decided to unplug from work during my little mini vaca, which is a big deal for me. It has been almost a year since I did that (last August for our honeymoon)... I am hopefully that since it is a holiday week and I will only be unplugged for 5 days including the weekend that it won't be too awful on Monday... either way, I am doing it!

    5. There was a stray cat on our deck this AM, and when my wife and I opened to door and called to it, it ran away. It looked like it was hurt though. My wife is now deeply troubled by this and wants to help the cat... I would like to note that we are both highly allergic to cats. This may not end well.

    6. I bought new prenatal vitamins last night. The bottle of 120 that I bought right before my first IUI only have 3 left in the bottle. Kind of depressing, but it is what it is... anyway, the new ones that I got are all natural and looked interesting, so I decided to try something new...

    7. I am feeling overwhelmed by the kindness of the folks on this board. Thanks for being supportive and just generally awesome people!

    8. I am also feeling a tad overwhelmed by life. I am hoping this little break is a reset for me.

    9. I hope that some of the other ladies in the TWW right now get a BFP this cycle! I am pulling for you!

    10. Maybe I need to consider taking a cycle off...

  • Good Morning all!!!

    1. I have been an emotional mess this weekend!!!

    2. I am looking forward to come family time this weekend. We are spending time with my folks tomorrow and thursday (they are coming here to visit) and then we are spending time with C's family Friday-Sunday. I am looking forward to being with family but I wish I had some BFP news for them...but it will be to early for a BFP or BFN.

    3. We are 8pdiui and my AF is supposed to arrive on sunday. I want to test so badly but I feel like its too early and it just makes me crazy when I test.

    4. I watch my niece during the day and she has been coming over early this week because they are going on vacation at the end of the week and both her parents work in the medical field so they need to make sure their clients are taken care of. She's been coming over at 7am and I LOVE spending time with her!!! I guess this is so good training for our own!

    5.  I am currently finishing up my MBA and the current class I am in is kicking my butt! I really didn't think that it would as it is something that I am used to but the university just changed its format and cirriculum and it is crazy difficult!

    6. It has been rainy, rainy, rainy here in Columbus! I am not complaining as it has been way to humid lately but all this rain is making me sleepy!

    7. C and I saw the movie "The Heat" this weekend and it was SO funny! I laughed out loud...in an embarassing way!

    8. I have been drinking so much milk today!

  • Good morning!!!

    1. Had a work dinner last night (since we all work from home, we get out when the big big boss is in town to all catch up) and it was a lot of fun, but we didn't get home until LATE

    2. So...couldn't sleep last night because the fur babies were going bananas until approximately 2am, which led me to sleep on the couch so K could get some sleep.

    3. Also, got a letter in the mail that the pool we put up in our backyard needs a permit and must meet some ridiculous guidelines so we have to take it down before 7/8... So sad because we put it up a week and a half ago and we LOVED being in it every evening after work.

    4. Super excited for a 4 day work week due to the 4th!

    5. Our littlest fur baby gets his stitches out tomorrow thank goodness because he's a little nutcase and it's hard for me to keep him calm all day long!

    6. I've never been so excited to start AF! I can't wait to start this whole process... get the HSG done (which sort of terrifies me) so we can move along in the process.

    7. Crazy pregnancy dreams are NOT helping matters...

    8. K and I have officially been married for a month :) I am loving married life

    9. Also super excited for the DOMA decision, but can't wait for it to mean that much more in the state we live in!

    10. We went to a 4th of July festival this weekend and K won a goldfish from a carnival game... that fish has since gone to the beyond, but it has been replaced with 3 additional fish, which brings our grand total to 12 heartbeats in our house (there are only 2 humans) oye vey...

  • 1. I'm totally smitten with our new cat.
    2. We have electricians at our house right now bringing some outlets up to code and replacing some light fixtures. Our house is about 90 years old and a lot of the wiring is outdated, so I'm always glad when we can fix a bit more.
    3. We have no plans for the holiday weekend and I am looking forward to having time to get some overdue housework done. I know that sounds boring but I always feel better when the house is in order.
    4. Three days off from work also means three days of kitty bonding time!
    5. I think we are going to see The Heat on Saturday glad to hear the good reviews from this group!
    6. I am getting tired of doctor visits. In the last month I have had 3 therapy appointments, 1 psychiatrist appointment, 1 optometrist appointment, 1 RE appointment, 1 PCP appointment xray, 2 midwife appointments, 1 ultrasound appointment, and 1 hospital trip for the DC. I have a follow up with the midwife next week and an appointment in two weeks.
    7. We have a huge brown slug living in our basement. I don't want to kill him but I'm too grossed out to move him outside.
    8. I wish this streak of hot, humid weather would end. It's not normal for the weather here to be this uncomfortable for this long, especially so early in the summer, and I am DONE with it.
    9. Can't decide what to eat for lunch...something unhealthy because I'm going back on WW tomorrow!
    10. I love my wife. I love our friends.

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Hi all! Happy Tuesday!

    1. I'm excited for the 4th this week but will be working anyway because I've taken so much vacation lately.
    2. We just scheduled a trip to Indy because K's cousin offered to throw us a family baby shower. We are hoping to get a lot of good hand-me-downs because there are lots of babies already in the family (kids of cousins, this will be the first grandchild for both of our parents).
    3. We've been trying to schedule a honeymoon/babymoon in Hawaii but running into challenges with scheduling since I have to save my days and K goes back to teaching in mid-late August.
    4. Boss is still being uber cool because she is in a new relationship and is super happy. I hope this lasts!
    5. We bought a changing table on Craigslist this morning. K feels super excited about bargaining and bartering for all our baby stuff. I found a new stroller in the model I want on Craigslist for $200 less than new price... debating on getting it now.
    6. We felt the baby kick this morning! Like really kick! Other times I felt bubble sensations in my belly but this was very strong and K was able to put her hand there and feel it too!
    7. My awesome co-worker is setting up a baby shower for us on Aug 30th. We are putting "Hand-me-downs welcome" on the invite, and I'm thinking about having coworkers each sponsor a month of diaper service. My friends who are new parents and doing their own cloth diapers say it is not that bad and totally fine to do own diapers, so I'm not sure. I have to make a registry, and thinking of using myregistry.com so I can include some local stores with natural products instead of Baby's R Us, etc.
    8. I finally finally believe this baby is coming. A/S is next week!
    9. My sunburn is better today but I'm so not letting that happen again.
    10. I think honeymoon/babymoon may end up being a long resort/spa weekend in California, there are lots of gorgeous places within driving distance.

  • Yay for Tuesday! And if you like Melissa McCarthy and Sandra bullock and you love to laugh, you will love heat. Very well done.

    1. I am super excited about our secret Florida getaway. I can't wait for our awesome hotel pool and yes, I reserved a cabana at a local waterpark for Saturday. It makes up for having to work on Friday.

    2. RE number 1, I will be rocking my maternity swimsuits that I got on sale last week. Excited to "werk it".

    3. I retook my cert test last night and rocked it. Glad to have one more behind me. Only one more to go.

    4. I continue to crazy clean the new house. I want to feel settled and I want everything perfect for our shower in 3 weeks.

    5. The shower is in 3 weeks!!! And the crib will be here week after next. Wow.

    6. I am officially addicted to love it or list it on hgtv. What has happened to me? I never used to watch hgtv.

    7. I'm furiously trying finish dexter season 7 so I can watch the new season and finish before the baby gets here.

    8. I wish I had more time to organize things and paperwork. I love organizing, I just don't have the time to get everything exactly how I want it

    9. Before I it pregnant I never wore dresses. Now they are a constant staple in my wardrobe and I'm enjoying it.

    10. I should check my registry to see if anyone has bought anything. This is exciting since we did not register for our wedding, it's my first time around this block.

  • 1. I am off work today, so that is always a great day!

    2. T really wants a bird. She works at Petsmart and the conure there has fallen in love with her, but I don't think it is in our budget right now.

    3.  I am breaking her heart because we can't afford it right now! lol (see above)

    4. We met a new lesbian couple that has 2 children and have a double date on Fri. It is nice to have friends who understand what we are going through!

    5. I am getting anxious! It is still a month away from our first dr visit to see who will carry, but I cannot wait.

6.I have been busy reading books on fertility, we have been eating better and we are both taking vitamins to start getting us ready.

    7. We are still trying to decide if we will use a known donor or a bank. What a touch decision!

    8. Still on crutches, booooo! I have physical therapy again tonight.

    9. Speaking of my therapy, I should probably go do those stretches right now I am suposed to be doing every day hahaha

    10. I need help! I found one time where it is like your "notifications" here on the bump page to let you know when someone comments on a thread you wrote on. Now I cannot find that. I normally just use it on my phone so I bookmark any thread I want to check back on. But now that I have been looking at the site online more, I need help working this! I know it sounds stupid, and it is probably a huge button at the top, but help this blonde out!!

We saw "The Heat" on Saturday. So extremely funny. I did not expect to find it as funny as I did. So much fun!

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

  • 1. For being a short week, it seems to be taking forever!  Today feels like Thursday!

    2. My mom is getting married this weekend.  I am starting to get a little excited for her.  Or maybe I am just looking forward to the ***-show its going to be.

    3. The wedding is in the backyard of my Aunt's house (the same one that told me we couldn't have our wedding at their house) so it's pretty casual.  But my mom has a full fledged gaudy wedding dress.  Its champagne (I think) and is pretty tacky.  She is going from theme country chic to vintage and its all a hot mess!.

    4. I am not a mean person, but I have tried to help with things and she won't listen and everything from her dress to the decorations are super tacky.  Plus she is making this huge TO DO about her 5th wedding and its really embarrassing.  So at this point I am just sitting back and watching the *** hit the fan while enjoying free wine ;-)  Ok, maybe I can be a mean person.

    5. We have decided to start TTC again in August, with a new donor.  We are very excited!

    6. We are having a family reunion on July 4th.  I wish I was more excited to see my family, but they cause me stress and anxiety because everyone is so dysfunctional.

    7. I am looking forward to seeing my grandmother.  She lives in FL and only travels to Ohio once or twice a year.

    8. I am really glad that my sister has moved in next door.  We see each other a few days a week and its usually for coffee on the patio in the morning.  We have become much closer.

    9. I have lost 20lbs in the last few months with the help of some medication.  I was aiming for 30lbs, but I will take it!

    10. I found out recently that a friend of mine is being deployed to Afghanistan next month :-(  I am very sad and worried for him.

    6. We are having a family reunion on July 4th.  I wish I was more excited to see my family, but they cause me stress and anxiety because everyone is so dysfunctional.

I totally get the stress from family. I'm doing everything I can to eliminate it from our lives as we start ttc, but so far, I haven't been successful. DW is searching fro real estate in Alaska...:)

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.

  • Can she pick somewhere a little less cold and I would be all for it!  We could buy land and build multiple houses and live on a commune, haha

I am sorry you are having family issues.  I know how difficult it can be and hurtful.

  • 1. Kaden's asleep and EV and I are waiting to have a Skype chat with our friends who are going through it on their TTC journey.

    2. There is a huge thunderstorm right now as only exists the jungle. I was in the bathroom when I heard the loudest crack of thunder I have Ever EVER heard in my life, it really sounded like the sky was being torn apart.  I scooted over to where EV was sitting and threw my arms around her neck!!  LOL

    3. Kaden doesn't watch TV, occasionally when he was a "nursling" I'd let him nurse and fall asleep while I watched shows/movies on my laptop, but since he started "caring" about what is happening on the screen we stopped letting him watch. Anyway. Today we were sitting at a restaurant and he started screaming and howling like a crazy kid. I finally looked over my shoulder and cartoon was on TV.   I turned the highchair around it helped but wasn't a perfect solution since he is a wiggle worm.  So strange how much it effected him...

    4. We bought over 100 plants today for our garden. Tomorrow our gardener comes and we get to start working on the landscape design - super excited.

    5. I love being on a break from school  - especially at the same time as EV.

    6. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary - 9 years!!!! Now all we have to do is get married when we get back to CA.  Wink

    7. I want to add a TTC ticker but I'm superstitious about it.  Hahaha - Sigh...

    8. FX for everyone in their TWW!!

    9. I have a lot to do tomorrow and I'm feeling overwhelmed already. EV will be painting the upstairs furniture and I'll have to try and squeeze my personal business into Kaden's nap times... I wish there was such a thing as a quick and efficient call to a Customer Service line...

    10. I love my life, I feel very grateful lately. And since I know life has plenty of ups and downs I'm trying to enjoy the moment. Smile

  • 1. Saturday at Pride was wonderful! The *** March was awesome and it was so fun to hear Kate Reid play.

    2. I had a lovely time at M's mom's house on Sunday for a BBQ

    3. We saw The Heat on Saturday night and it was the funniest movie I've seen possibly ever. I would totally go see it again.

    4. We are probably going to move in October into an apartment building. We are currently renting a small three bedroom house and while the rent is not unreasonable, our income is going down significantly next year while our costs go up.

    5. As much as I dread the amount of work that will go into moving, I'm kind of looking forward to how downsizing our living space will force us to get rid of a lot of the unnecessary clutter in our home.

    6. I also think that moving into a smaller and cheaper place is a very responsible adult decision for us to make, so I feel good about us biting the proverbial bullet and doing that.

    7. We found out yesterday that the $2300 of IVF costs that is covered by the provincial government for folks with bilateral tubal blockage (like me--well mine are removed now) may not be covered by my international student insurance, which is supposed to cover all the stuff that provincial health care covers.

    8. If that is the case, we will have to wait until my permanent residency comes through to start IVF. We applied in December, so hopefully I will have my permanent residency by early in the new year, if not sooner.

    9. A friend of mine suggested we do an IVF fundraiser and M also had the same idea. We're too close to our Love Party, I feel, to do it now. But maybe we could do it in the mid to late Fall. Anyone have any suggestions for what we could do for that?

    10. I can't believe how time flies and how far along some folks are in their pregnancies! This struck me especially when I read MK's pregnancy check-in. YAY and congrats to all of you. It gives me faith/hope that M and I will be there in due time.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

  • Better late than never LOL (even AF seems to think this way)

    1. I am grading summer school work and all caught up so now I am staring at 10 individuals as they work on the computer. I AM BORED OUT OF MY MIND. I have been virtual shopping for the dogs, my snake, the wife and I, etc. Window shopping via the internet LOL.

    2. I do not want to spend much money b/c we are preparing for our annual family trip to the keys. We go down every year for a week for lobster mini season. It is a family affair. My mother-in-law, her husband, my sister and brother in law, our 3 dogs, my MIL dog, and my SIL dog, a cousin is joining us from Germany, a family friend and her son... and then about 4 or 5 more friends tag along. It is a great time and I cannot wait. Almost all of us have campers so we "camp" (luxury camping is more like it LOL) in a small place called Geiger Key right on the water. It is such a good time  to relax and enjoy one another...plus we get to go do all sorts of diving (which is why my wife says it is good that I got a BFN...so I could participate)

    3. It is raining here A LOT. It makes it very difficult to stay out of bed!!!!!

    4. The wife and I made chicken kabobs last night with some basil pasta and it was AMAZING! After dinner she brought me some strawberry shortcake for dessert...she is such a good wife!!! I surprised her by checking off a crap load of things on our to-do list that she had planned to do tomorrow. NOw she can relax!!!

    5. I am obsessed with White House/Black Market. All of their clothing are extremely flattering on me (which is the first time I can actually say that) and do not make me feel bloated or fat. Between them and Victoria's Secret....I could shop both places all day! However, I am refraining---see #2

    6. AF finally came Monday night only to disappear Tuesday afternoon. Spoke to Dr about it and they said it might show back up , but to let them know either way.

    7. We are looking at upgrading our TV. We have a tv my parents gave us that is probably 15+ years old. It is a 60" but it is the old, huge, space gobbling, type. While we could get same size to take up less space, we are having a hard time justifying buying a new tv when this one still works. This is a damn good tv too. Has lasted over 15 years and still has great sound and picture. They sure don't make things like they use to

    8. My dog's hips are really bothering him again. Apparently he tore his right ACL and we never knew it and then...due to him compensating he tore the left ACL. We did take him to the vet when we noticed him limping but they said it was nothing. Eventually it got to be too much for me to see so I took him to a specialist that found the ACL issue. We could have spent upwards of $2k but the Dr. said he didn't think the surgery would help that much and didn't want to waste our money...BTW LOVE HIM!!! Now my poor baby tends to limp if he over-does it but does not seem to be in any pain

    9. I have found a guilty pleasure in toddlers n tiaras. I think I watch it just to be horrified by the parents and the way things go. Sad part of my life LOL but the wife says it is better than me watching Keeping up with the Kardashians

    10. Whew...made it.. Sorry for the loonnnggg winded responses but as I said...I am bored!
