Discipline?

DS has really hit the terrible twos just a week before his 3rd birthday.  Last few weeks he has just been rotten!  What really has me beside myself is that when I try to talk to him about it, he totally ignores me...purposely looks the other way and "growls" when I try to talk to him!

He starts preschool in August and I really want to nip this in the bud.  Any suggestions are welcome.

we use 1-2-3 magic (see book or dvd). Basically a specific system for using time-outs. Lucky you he waited so long!  Our terrible twos started at one and a half.

Good luck nipping normal childhood development in the bud. Can I suggest you read a few books on child development? The "Your Three Year Old: Friend or Enemy" book is good, as is "The Emotional Life of the Toddler". Also, trust me, his preschool had seen far worse.

This.  DD used to growl like a jaguar (she's into Diego) whenever she got in trouble.

LOL my little boy just started growling too. Drives me crazy. We tell him that noise is not nice. If he continues it, we send him to time-out. It usually works for us.
