Maternity Tops

Is it me or do they all seem super scooped at the neckline?

I can't wear V-Neck because the girls are a little too big for my taste. But everything I'm seeing online at Old Navy, The Gap and even Target just have these super scooped necklines.

 Is it me?

Re: Maternity Tops

  • Mine are scooped or 'v' necked.  The t-shirt style ones anyway and they all seem to be striped.  Is that supposed to slim us down or something?

  • I find the same problem. Since I'm still nursing DS I can't easily wear a tank underneath to cover the cleavage. I have just been strutting my stuff since DS's birth since it seems impossible to find higher nursing friendly clothes. Also I hate if the shirts come up too high, all the way to my neck. I need them to make a happy medium.

  • They are really low cut.  I do the same as PP and layer another tank underneath.  If its for work, I put a tank underneath and wear a cardigan on top.

  • I wear camis and tanks with everything too, but I normally do that anyway. I like to keep the girls covered! As for the stripes....I think that is just a trend in general, not necessarily just maternity?

  • I bought a couple of shirts at Kohl's this weekend, and what I really liked was that my chest is completely covered!!  They had a lot of cute tops, even dressier tops that looked really cute!  Plus they were 40% off!

lol word. Maybe a bigger belly gives an illusion of slimness in conjunction w/the stripes?

     Who knows.

I picked up a top at thyme maternity recently even though I don't need tops yet but I bought it because it was so high on top and there is zero risk of my boobs popping out! Do you have one of these stores near you? I'm on mobile and can't see locations sorry.

  • I feel your pain!! I also don't like scooped or V-neck because patients get an easy look at the boobs when I'm using my stethoscope. It's hard to find high-necked maternity clothes, it sucks.

  • I found some tops that are not low cut at Motherhood, Target and Kohls. It does take some searching. I also have tons of maternity tanks to wear under the less modest options.
  • I'm in the minority here lol Even though they have grown, my boobs are still on the small side. The shirts actually give me cleavage! Lol But I do layer often. And when I was pumping/ nursing DD the scooped necklines helped, I could just yank them down and pop her or the pump on. Or I wore a nursing tank under and lifted the top.
