Babies: 3 - 6 Months

care.com experience

Has anyone used care.com? What was your experience? Do they offer a free month? I've seen 35% off codes but didn't know if there was anything better out there. Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: care.com experience

  • I don't have any feedback yet, but wanted to let you know that I interviewed several nannies off there and hired 1. She starts this week.

  • We hired a babysitter that we love, and will be interviewing a few part time nannies. I have to be honest, it's a bit overwhelming, but hey, I was a babysitter all through college... those parents must have felt nervous the first few times they left their kids with me too! Good luck mama!

  • Btw, the "free trial" allows you to post a job. People can apply and contact you about the job, but you have no way to contact them back without signing up and paying. So the free trial is bunk in my opinion, but I ended up having some good people apply so I didn't mind toooo much spending the money to be able to contact them. As with any online service, you need to be careful, exercise common sense, and use good judgment... But it's a good option for finding sitters or a nanny.

  • my sister hired two nanny's from that site. One was wonderful the other one is a nightmare she didn't have any references on the site so my suggestion is only interview someone who has a high rating. you can discuss prices with them directly.

  • I hired my nanny on care.com and she is AMAZING. She is very experienced (used to run her own daycare), reliable, and organized. Once I met her we realized that she is actually a friend of a friend. I love her. Most of the replies I got were young women, recently graduated from college, looking for something short-term most likely. I am sure many of them would have been great, but we opted for someone with more experience.
