2 yr molars at 18 months????

DS has all of his teeth (and has for a good month now) except his 2 yr (second set) molars. The last couple weeks I have noticed SO much drool (and he is not a drooler....even with cutting other teeth), fingers in the mouth constantly, shorter nap time (1.5  hrs instead of 3!), and the last couple of days his crankiness has been so bad (similar to his teething) But he won't let me peek in his mouth and when I try to stick my finger back there he bites me... not nice! HA! Is it to early for his 2nd set to be coming in.... has anyone else gone through this early? TIA!

DS 1 had most of his teeth by 13 months.  He did get his 2 year molars very early.  And I don't think he was even 18 months yet.  They just came.  He was laughing one day and realized he had more teeth I hadn't seen before.

Thank you for posting this. We have been wondering the same thing. My LO is days away from 19 mos, has had a runny nose for a couple weeks, is drooling, and oh, the crankiness -- where did that come from?! I am afraid, too, of putting my finger in his mouth to check. The only major difference I see from teething is he isn't waking in the night. Actually, he has been sleeping 14 hours in the overnight and taking at least a 2hr nap. What is going on?!

Yep, DS is getting them at 18 months. He has been teething constantly since 4 months, ugh.

exacly this,I still have to put him bibs or change his cloths two or three times a day,because he is drooling like crazy.

My son had 12 teeth before he was 1 - then started getting his 2yr molars around 15months.  It took almost 6 months for those 4 damn teeth to come through.  They took for.ev.er!  We had a serious problem with biting for months.

I'm pretty sure this is what we're dealing with right now too.  DS has all of his other teeth already, but he is drooling and chewing on his entire hand all the time.  He also has the crankiness and low-grade fever going on, is fighting going to sleep and waking up at odd hours screaming.  He's pretty much a hot drooling mess right now.
