CRAP! what do I do?

Ok, so I recently ordered a ton of stuff off zulily.com using my paypal account, which I use all the time. However, last time I used it was to order something from JC Penny and have it shipped to the store, rather than my house. Apparently Paypal decided to reset my address to the JC Penny address for future purchases, because now my zulily stuff got delivered there too!

 I called JC Penny and they haven't seen it, but USPS says it was delivered there on June 19. I have emailed zulily customer service, but I am afraid they won't help me since it was my fault for not double checking my paypal address. AGH! I spent a lot of money and really needed some of the items for K's birthday! I am so mad at myself (and at paypal) and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions or advice??

    I would call JCP again and ask to speak with a manager, my guess is they have it somewhere. Or they returned it.

     

    Now they are telling me they have to wait for their "guy that handles deliveries" to be back in tomorrow morning to look for it. No one that I spoke to sounded that concerned, hopeful, or even educated. I asked for the manager, but I'm not sure the person I was given to was an actual manager. At least I hope not.

  • I would go down there and talk to a manager face to face if anything to make sure that you are actually speaking to a manager and not a cashier that really doesn't care

  • I agree about going in! Also print the delivery confirmation and if it comes to it you can get a hold of the carrier that delivered that stuff.  That's a long shot since I bet they get a lot of stuff delivered but worth a shot if you don't get anywhere with JCP.  I can't imagine them brushing you off if you go in person.  I hope you find all of your stuff!!
  • Thanks guys. I will definitely be going in on Wednesday since I don't have work. I'm just paranoid someone who works there just decided to open the package and steal what was inside!

    Zulily customer service got back to me and my order has not been returned to them, but they will also be on the lookout. I'm so frustrated right now!

  • I'm sorry this happened lewis! I would be so annoyed. I agree with PPs about going to JCP in person. If you still don't get your package back, I would think that PayPal would be liable for your lost stuff since they are the ones who automatically changed your address. That's weird that that happened anyway. When you placed an order with JCP, you would think that JCP would have changed the shipping address (to themselves) and the Paypal account information should have stayed completely separate. If Paypal has a system that automatically changes your shipping address, then they should notify you when this happens, or even better have a little box that pops up and asks if you want to make it your default address.
