25th HS Reunion!

I graduated in 1989 so this coming year equals 25th reunion.  Anyone else around here heading into that big year?  My girls are 5 and 7 (kindergarten and 1st grade this fall).   The guy that has really taken the torch to plan our 10th and 20th is in the middle of planning his wedding (he has been with his partner for 25 years but they can finally get married!!!!) so he is not going to plan it.  I so hope someone plans something - I'm out of state so its really hard to take the lead but I so want to see my HS friends (went to a small HS and have known most of the people I graduated with since kindy!).

I went to my 25th last year, and we had a lot of fun.  Just got a room in a bar in mpls. And had drinks and hearty appetizers.  Keep it cheap, and more people will show up!

Mine should have been this year (graduated 1988) but nothing was planned. I skipped my 20th because it was a few weeks before my wedding.

The 2 others that I have been in contact with (the group that planned our 20th) are thinking a Sat night bar night and then possible a family BBQ Sat afternoon as we have some classmates that won't do the bar thing at all so this way, we can get everyone involved.  It was a small class - 132.  1 classmate was killed in a car accident a few weeks prior to our 10 year which was a basic bar night (we had a private room upstairs from the bar).  The 20 year we did Homecoming weekend and we had planned to go to the game and then the bar but it rained so a huge group just went to the bar and we had a more formal event Sat night with appts, dessert and cash bar.

I am thinking planning homecoming 2014 and do Friday night the same with the game and then a local bar and then do another bar thing Sat night or just the game/bar Friday night and the family BBQ thing on Sat.  Need to get some more folks involved in the planning - I am so busy, one of the guys is getting married and the other person is starting a new job and moving over the next few months so won't be able to help much until the winter.

We have had 5 (really small) 10, and 20 year.  I love going back since I live in a different state and only keep in touch with a handful of people.  We had 2 elementary schools, 1 JH and a HS so I have known half of the 132 since kindy so its a blast to see people.

I was LOL with some other friends that 25 years ago, I was having the summer of my life with my HS boyfriend (1st true love and all that jazz) and just had such a great time that summer.  Life really changed for me the next summer as we moved and I worked at a summer camp and then went off to college.  I would go back to the area that I grew up for parties my 1st year away and even the few weeks between when freshman year at college ended and before I went away to the camp I worked at but not much after that other than the reunions.  No email and FB back then - things would have been so different I imagine had we had those things.
