Help! I'm totally freaking out! I just ate a salad and realized halfway through there was gorgonzola on it! I'm at 12 weeks and a few days.. Is there anything i can do besides hope that my LO is ok??
Soft cheeses are safe as long as they are pasteurized, which almost all are in the United States. Some specialty imported cheeses or artisanal cheeses may not be, so it is smart to check labels if you can.
ETA: Even if the cheese was unpasteurized, you are still probably fine. The risk is listeria, a bacteria, the same reason you may see warnings against deli meats. Risk is still low.
Whats done is done, chances are everything is fine. I've had blue cheese and gorgonzola this pregnancy - whoops. I've started paying a little more attention to what is in my food since, but everything is ok.
99% chance everything is fine. Just about every cheese you eat is pasteurized, unless you are eating at a very fine restaurant or directly at the farm. So, try not to worry. If you want, you can always call the restaurant or check the label and see if it was pasteurized.
Most soft cheeses are pasteurized. I wouldn't freak out. The chances of anything happening anyway are pretty low. The only cheese I've found that is not consistently pasteurized is roquefurt.

Exactly this.
