leaving LO overnight - need support?

Okay, so DH and I booked a beach trip next month (just two nights) with plans to leave DD with my parents (completely trust my mother and DD loves her).  I'm starting to feel guilty about it.  DD hates the water, her feet being wet and big, loud groups of people - so the beach is DEFINITELY a bad idea for her.   I really want to take some time for DH and I to just reconnect, but is it fair to DD?  What if she freaks out day 2 about missing us?  Am I doing the right thing?  Have you left your LO over night?  How'd they do? 

We've never left her overnight before and are doing a "test run" for one night with my mom in a couple weeks, and then plan to just take her down for a couple visits before we go away, so she doesn't think that we "abandon" her every time we take her to my moms..

My lo's don't even notice they are gone when they stay overnight with grandma and grandpa. The longest we've left them is 5 nights and they both did great! You need a break and she's with someone she knows... Go have fun as relax!

My child could careless when I leave him with Grandma.  He loves he so much he runs to the door when she arrives.

I really think your LO will be fine, she may have to adjust to sleeping in a new place but she'll be perfect.  She's going to have so much fun, getting loved on and spoiled!

My daughter loves going to grandmom's house. Both times she slept over, my mom did have trouble getting her to sleep in an unfamiliar crib and room, but once she fell asleep she slept through the night and didn't miss me in the morning. I think doing a test run is a good idea.

Your LO is going to have a blast with Grandma! Seriously, just go and don't worry about it! When my kids are around my parents, they could care less about DH & I. All they care about is Mimi & Papa. Have fun at the beach

Your daughter will have a lot of fun with your mom! I have left Austin with my parents several times- as long as she knows her and feels comfortable, I say go for it! The last time I left Austin for more than 1 night was in January and he had a blast. I will only leave him with my parents though because I know that's where he feels most comfortable besides here at home.

Jackson is a pro staying at Grandma and Grandpa's! Your LO will have a blast. Don't over think it cause that'll cause to much unnecessary stress and your LO may feed off of that. Also, enjoy your weekend get a way with your DH!

You're totally fine! We've left DS with my parents and/or DH's parents for numerous overnights due to weddings etc, and he LOVES it. It's such a great bonding experience for them

It's healthy for your LO to build a relationship with Grandma without you around.  And you and your H having time together to strengthen your relationship can only be good for her.  This is a good thing you are doing, not a reason to feel guilty.

He's done a few single overnight trips to my ILs and then very recently did 2 nights with them. It was absolutely harder on me than him. He did lash out a little bit after the 2 night stint, he was fussy and misbehaving a bit for a little while after we reunited. But while we were gone he had a blast with my ILs. I think he just didn't realize that he missed us until we came back and that overwhelmed him a bit.

You can do it! DH and I just left the kids for the first time to go to an out of state wedding I was in. We were gone 4 nights (kindof like 3 since we left after bedtime the first night.) It was hard to leave, and I had a little breakdown our last night away, but they did great. It really was nice to get away, and I totally trust my parents, who came and stayed at our house. Go for it!
