IUI vs relations?

My DH and I currently have been doing meds with timed intercourse. This month my RE put me on higher doses of meds (bravelle) due to my fsh level being high and my RE worried about my egg reserve quality.  Went in today and I have 4 nice size  follicles, which is good news for once.  My RE brought up doing an iui this cycle. My DH and I were not planning on wooing an iui this cycle and were thinking maybe next cycle if this one didn't work. Now I am just not sure what to do. On one hand I want to do the iui to up my chances, but not sure if its the right answer.  DH sperm is fine, it was tested last week.  Any of you ladies doing IUI? How did you come to that decision? Thanks!

    No experience with IUI's but I just wanted to wish you luck, whatever decision you make.  Fx'ed that this is your cycle......  ;)

    For example, you could have intercourse when you do your trigger, then do the IUI 36 hours later.  Then one more TI around 12 hours after that.

    Me: 41 DH: 46. We are TTC our 1st, started July '11,
    3 cycles clomid with Ob,
    1 cycle Tamoxifen with Ob,
    Diagnosed PCOS 11/5/12
    clomid, trigger & timed bd 12/12 BFN
    1st clomid IUI 1/4/13 BFN.
    2nd clomid IUI 2/13 cancelled didn't respond to clomid.
    3/15/13 scheduled laparoscopy & on bcp.

    May 10 IUI from injectibles - BFN 

    May 22 done with interventions it will either happen or it won't. 

    February 2014 No longer actively trying, but not preventing.

    Wow! This is so strange! I was just getting ready to post this exact same thing! We've been trying with meds for the last two months, but my RE told me that he thinks we should consider the IUI this month. The process unnerves me a bit, and honestly, I just really wish we could just get pregnant and be done! For my DH, it is the cost of the procedure with only a possibility of a positive result. My DH is incredibly frugal, so I know that if we don't get pregnant, the loss of money will drive him up the wall...I just want to try it since I am a school teacher and my RE is about an hour and a half away from my town. I don't want to use sick days if I don't have to.... :)
