Infant carrying question

Hey Ladies!

I'm currently expecting my third baby.  I have a 7 year old and a 5 year old, so its been a while for me!

With my first two I used a sling carrier which was okay.  I didn't like they way they moved away from my body when I bent over, and I wish it had been easier for nursing.  I usually had to take baby out of the carrier to nurse.

With my son, I stumbled onto the beco carrier when he was about 3 months, and I LOVED it.  I carried him easily in front and then on my back until he was 2 1/2.  I absolutely want to use my beco again, but I didn't purchase the infant insert when I bought the carrier all those years ago.  Now they've changed the design so I'm not sure where to go from here.

Should I purchase the insert they currently make and try to make it work?  Or should I look at a different carrier style for the first few months?  I have friends who use both the wrap style and the ring style, but I'm a bit lost.

 Thoughts?  TIA

Re: Infant carrying question

  • My buckle carrier has an internal harness for newborns (Chimparoo) but it wasn't really snug or comforting enough when she was really young. I liked my ring sling and moby best. Ring sling is super easy to get on/off, moby wrap takes some practice and space, but carries the weight so well its like being pregnant again-totally hands free.

Ring sling or infant Kinderpack. If you are outside the US, Manduca.
