Bed sharing issues

We bring our LO into bed after his second MOTN feeding and spend the early morning nursing on and off until he wakes for the day. Here's my issue, he almost always poops, pees, spits up or my milk drips out his mouth, etc. all over the bed. frankly, I am getting tired of changing my sheets everyday! Do we just need new diapers or do you have some suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Bed sharing issues

  • I'd def try new, different or bigger diapers if they are leaking daily...

And my guy drools milk on my bed all night long - and ill admit, i let it dry and dont change the sheet... if its poo or vomit, that's another issue, but my whole life is covered in milk drool so I figured its OK on the sheets for a few days :)

  • Could you lay a hand towel under you/DS that you can toss in the laundry in the AM?

I leaked a lot for the first few months, and DS drooled a fair bit too, but as your supply regulates it really does get better. I have a waterproof cover under my sheets and I just let milk dry too. Our biggest thing now is that DS sweats a lot and leaves a huge head mark where he sleeps. So gross!

As for the poop, all it takes is a blowout for me to know it's time to go up a size. You can also try another brand. And you can fold the top of the diaper down/in a bit to try to catch the poop. ;D

  • I use a crib mattress protector and put it under LO. It is flat and long. My mom brought it over and said she used it with us. I would think amaz.on has something that would work. Just make sure you check the dimensions. That pad has saved countless shet changes! Good luck!

  • I also use a flannel crib mattress protector under LO. I think I got mine at Target.

  • do what I do to keep from changing the sheets every day I lay down a crib pad then cover it with soft towels or baby receiving blankets then when they are wet I just change them out so I do not have to strip the bed down every single day . If diapers are leaking try a different size or brand some brands work better than other brands
