Cereal

Is it bad that I'm pretty much surviving on cereal these days? It doesn't bother my reflux too bad, doesn't make me want to puke... so... I have several varieties, and I'm just alternating them for all my meals and snacks. I'm sure the prenatal vitamins are taking care of all my other nutritional needs... Huh?

  • Haha I literally just told DH that I'm not making dinner tonight. He's working til 10 and I usually make dinner and save him a plate. I told him I he's hungry when he gets home he can have some cracklin oat bran. My old man loves his old man cereal!

  • I am on the same diet ;-) I usually have some Frosted Mini Wheats or Rasin Bran... But every now and again I am REALLY bad and go for the Fruity Pebbles :-)

  • I eat a lot of cereal too because it has been the only thing that consistently does not bother me. It will be fine. We go through at least 2 large boxes of rice crispies a week...and I am the only one that eats that cereal!

Is it normal to feel like your morning sickness is back this late in pregnancy? That's how I've been feeling for the past week.

Me too! Except it's hitting me in the middle of the night now instead of when I wake up...

  • Cereal is great!! My husband and I had a bowl for lunch..lol.
  • Your diet is better than mine. I've been living off eggo waffles for the past 2 weeks coz they're the only thing that doesn't make my chest burn...

I can't get enough cereal either. I've been eating strawberry frosted mini wheats and cookie crisp from the start. They have been my biggest cravings!

  • Aaaaand I just learned my lesson with the cereal. It was quite a scene..I was laying in bed, AC on, in my underwear, resting a bowl a of Pops on my belly when the bowl toppled over. Now the sheets are in the wash, I had to shower cereal off myself, and I'm still hungry!

  • I've probably been having Peanut Butter Captain Crunch a little too often as a meal lately. Some nights I just can't handle anything with too much flavor or spice to it and cereal hits the spot.

Morning sickness came back for me and potentially more so than first tri. What sucks is I wake up starving, eat and then feel like puking. Lovely.

I am living off of cereal, Costco bagels and Bisquick waffles.

I swear this would happen to me too so don't feel too bad! And yea now I really want cereal.

  • I've been eating large heaps of Cheerios with milk, honey, assorted berries and sliced banana. Delic!!
  • If this is bad, then I don't want to be right!  I love cereal.

  • So glad it's not just me! Cereal has kept me going this whole pregnancy and it has made me feel guilty at times since it it not the healthiest choice. It's just so good, though...

I'm really gonna leave the food on the stove that my mom cooked. Instead, I'm gonna put a glass of milk in the freezer to chill for 30 min and eat honey nut cheerios...ummmm

  • I can't have cereal!! I totally love it and crave it every pregnancy but not good for GD I have to have protein and I am not eating Koshi or whatever. If you are going to have cereal it needs to be Reeses peanut butter puffs or fruity pebbles or honey nut cheerios...OH I want cereal!!!

  • I eat cereal at least once a day. It's the only thing that sounds good.

I have GD, too but for some reason I have NEVER been off my goal with the cereal I eat. It's strange...

Same here. Due to GD, I can't have cereal in the morning but lunch and supper, it doesn't affect my numbers.
