Casual and fancy dinner

Since we had decided that I would stay home with LO it has been my mission to cook and keep the apartment tidy, not spotless we still have LO demanding a lot of attention, but tidy none the less. Today's mission was to try out a chicken and dumplings recipe for dinner and to try my hand at recreateing the berries and creme dessert from Ruth's Chris. I'm really REALLY hoping they both turn out ok since I haven't tried either one before. Anyone have any dishes they're trying out or have any good fallbacks?
