Just out of curiosity are any other June moms living in a small space?
We live in a studio apartment which makes some things very challenging. For example, I have no where to put a baby gate or a room for DS to play. So he pretty much has run of the place. :P Luckily with the nice weather we play outside a lot.
Another challenge is getting DS to sleep while H and I stay up. It sometimes takes awhile since DS can see us from his crib since we're all in one room.
A new one is that DS has been waking up with my alarm clock. I like to get up before him to take a shower but this new habit of his is making it kind of difficult.
Things are definitely better with the nice weather but sometimes I feel so cramped with the 3 of us in such small space.
Can anyone else commiserate?
Re: Moms in small spaces
That is a good idea! I will give it a try. Right now I use a regular alarm clock but the phone is a good idea. Thanks!
I can just commiserate with you on living in a small space. I feel like our entire living area is one big playroom.
Goodbye little angel(7/22/2011)....see you in heaven
Goodbye my second angel (9/18/2011)
I feel that way too. Sometimes baby stuff is just everywhere! Luckily most people who have bought toys for him understand the space issue.
We have very few "big" toys. And by big I mean something like the little people farm. Not huge but definitely takes up space.
Another great idea! I'll check with H if this is something we could do. Thanks!
We definitely want to move. It's not in the cards right now but I'm hoping soon. I'm always looking for bigger places but the cost of living is so high here.
I'm glad you got a bigger place. I really think it will help my sanity too when we eventually move. Luckily it's summer and we go outside a lot because sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in.
We have a two bedroom apartment and I feel like that is even tough so I can't imagine what you are experiencing!! I keep the whitenoise machine on all nighr primarily to block out any sounds that would wake him up (loading dishwasher, closing dryer doors, etc). You would need to watch the tv with subtitles and get used to the noise on all night, but I found it really helps.
He also basically trashes the whole apartment everynight so I too have found it is best to get him out of the apartment. We go to the playground at the apartment, pool, jogging, etc a lot to get out of the house or otherwise I am just following him around straightening up all night. Now that he is walking with one of those push toys with wheels, I let him walk up and down the halls. He seems to like that a lot.
