1st PPP

For those of you who have gotten a first post-partum period, was it way different from pre-baby? After DS, my cycle returned about 2 months after I weaned him, and it was all whacked out thanks to my thyroid levels. But I was also on BC at the time, so I don't remember it being particularly long or heavy. Now, I'm still BFing and on the mini pill, but today I have what feels like bad cramps and I'm wondering if this lovely grace period is coming to a close. But I really hope I'm not in for crazy pain every month, especially once I'm off the mini pill (which will be as soon as DH gets his final all-clear from the doc who did the snip).

    My first two were way heavier and longer than normal. The third was heavier but only for the first two days. The fourth was my normal heavy for a day, medium for a day, light for a couple days.

    And adding- my first PPP came along with awful cramps. They've gotten better with each one since though.  I just had my... maybe 5th? PPP and it was back to 'normal' ish.

    Yup, first 4 were horrible/heavier, slowly getting better.

    I thought you didn't get periods while on a progestin only mini pill?  When I was on the mini pill, I'd feel crampy and like I was getting pms, but the period never came, and I thought that was due to the pill...

    Hmm that's interesting. I'm on the mini pill still and like I said I've been getting crampy but no period. But I hadn't heard that you don't get a period while on it. I have a friend whose on the mini pill and breastfeeding and got her period back 3 months pp. Hers is irregular though but she has endometriosis and pcos.

    I could be wrong... I think I had gotten that impression from Dr. Google, but it's worth looking into...
