Sorry for those of you having to see this twice.
I live in a very small town. The water main broke three days ago. We have intermittently had water, but it is not potable so we can't use it for anything other than showering.
Yesterday they got the main fixed. We still can't use the water, but at least it was on its way to being "recharged."
Today a utility worker hit the main in a different place. $#@!
The exact moment the line was hit (1st time), I was in the middle of making Italian sauce and meatballs from scratch. My house? Smells. And is filthy. My toilets are looking stained from not being able to flush. My laundry is roof-level.
These are first world problems and I know countless others have NO access to water, let alone water that is safe and clean. But, I smell and my house is trashed so I feel cranky. We have to spend money we don't have on eating out because our utensils, pots, etc. are dirty. Plus, some water splashed in my mouth when I was trying to shower Lincoln and I simultaneously and my stomach has been doing bad things since.
I am trying very hard to be thankful that this is the extent of our problems. But now I am scared the small town will send an exorbitant water bill to foot the cost of the repairs. Money is already tight. Wah.
OK, now I am going to kick my own @$$ off the pity pot. Thanks for allowing me a moment of bratiness.
