Have any of you purchased extra tray covers for your high chairs? I was thinking a buying a few so I could throw them in the dishwasher and have spares. I hate having to hand wash it multiple times a day. What do you think?
I think you're a few months away from moving to a booster seat at the table so not worth it. Maybe start practicing with plates or get those throw away placemats that you can use for eating out.
I purchased a seat cover. Mine looked worn out after DS1. I wish I had bought it earlier, since it took 12 weeks to get here. My tray has a cover, the tray, then a small tray under it, so I've never had a reason to buy an extra tray cover. Plus, It doesn't fit in the dishwasher very well. I only throw it in when I need to run it and have the extra space.
I hate washing mine a few times a day too. I give DD a plate or bowl to practice with and she always just dumps the food out on her tray anyway. Oh well, still have to practice with them. My tray wont fit in the dishwasher so you're lucky there. I would think it depends on if you think the money is worth it. I don't know how much they are but if they're relatively cheap then I would do it. Like I said, I hate having to clean it so many times a day too and if mine fit in the dishwasher and they were not that expensive I would do it.
we started using a plate with the lip around it. that helps a lot. Otherwise I wipe it down after each meal and run it through the dishwasher--it only fits one way--once or twice a week or if it gets really bad.
