Twins game advice

Hi all,

I'm going to a Twins game on Sunday with family and we are bringing our 9 month old. I'm a bit apprehensive with how he'll do since we'll basically have to be holding him the whole time. I have an Ergo carrier that I will be using, but I can't imagine he'll stay comfortable in that for very long. Any tips to keep him happy for as long as possible? He's generally a pretty happy little guy.

Also, any advice on light rail? Best stop to get on and such? We were thinking the MOA, but that would be a 40 minute ride from what we've looked up.

Thanks!

Re: Twins game advice

  • I can't comment on the keeping the 9mo old happy (will be FTM in Dec), but on the light rail question the closer you are to downtown the more full it gets. We typically park and ride from Fort Snelling which has worked well for us and my in laws. You are usually guaranteed a seat. As you get closer to downtown the bigger issue is usually parking. Also depends on how early you go. Honestly if you don't mind the 40 min ride it isn't bad to go from MOA - you'd sit that long in traffic anyway. The ride home always seems longer. :) Also when you come out of the game the line will seem horribly long to get on the light rail, but it goes really quickly. Have fun! Sunday is supposed to be a beautiful day for the game.

  • Fort Snelling is a great place to park (it's about 20mins to TF) Also I would advise you NOT park at MOA if you want to part that area head over to the 28th street park & ride as they do ticket people who park at MOA only for the light rail.

You might want to check about the bag policy as I believe they have changed it.

  • We are going to the game Sunday and brought Noah last year. I would actually recommend driving instead of light rail. Light rail get super crowded. Even when we leave early we have never ever gotten a seat and our son would not want to be in the Ergo for 40 minutes.

The Ergo is great to have at the game though!

Ditto this!!!  I don't think you could ever convince me to go the LRT option when you can park in the lot for what, $11...  But if you end up leaving early, you can leave right then instead of having to wait for a train then the trek all the way back to where you parked, and then, turn and go home..  Just not worth it IMO...  Some friends did this once and they said never again in that the added time, crowds, and those inebriated just made it purely miserable...

  • We brought our daughter to a game at 2 months so a little less active.  DH carried our diaper bag and I wore DD in our Moby.  DH didn't have any trouble with our diaper bag at security for what it is worth!  :)
