Struggling with job decision!

I recently posted about how I currently have a work at home job with a very crazy boss who expects a lot of extra availability. We've had some issues getting along, which is why I started a job search in the first place.

I received a job offer for a new position that's in-office, but now when faced with signing the offer letter, I'm dragging my feet. I'm afraid that eventually I'll regret giving up the opportunity to be at home, despite my issues with my manager! I don't know why I'm so wishy washy. If it helps, the jobs are equivalent as far as title, duties, pay, though the new job has way better benefits.

Also, just found out I'm pregnant this week as I also mentioned in a previous post, which is what complicates this even further.

  • How long is the commute? Do you have any "inside" info on what the culture is like (is there another crazy boss there?). Have you outlined your expectations in terms of your availability to the new place and can they commit to it?

It is with a different company. The commute is minor, only about 15-20 min.

I wish I could get an inside scoop! I have a Facebook friend who worked at a previous company with me who apparently also worked there at one point according to LinkedIn, so I've been thinking of contacting her.

The hours are typical 8-5, which is fine with me. The boss seemed really friendly/normal when I spoke with her.

  • Does new company offer paid mat leave?  If not, I would stay put, but I also get a 4 month mat leave.  Paid.
