Walking

My son is 17 months old is not walking on his own yet. He will walk and nearly run if I hold his hand and will cruise along anything he can all day. He will stand up and take steps on his own and if we entice him with something he will follow us. I'm concerned his pediatrician is going to recommend physical therapy or something. What can I do to speed things along?

Re: Walking

  • You could check with Early Childhood Family Education in your area and they can come out and evaluate him. They can do physical therapy that is free through the state. My aunt does it in our state and they do a great job. Hope that helps!

  • DS seemed to enjoy walking with the V Tech sit and stand walker.  I don't understand why you'd be concerned about the dr recommending physical therapy though.  If that's what he needs to help him then why fight it?
