I wasn't planning on getting one because I can barely stand toting around the bulky one I already have. My LO is going to be 2 when baby gets here and does great in the umbrella stroller but everyone has made the point, "What are you going to do when your husband isn't running errands with you?" So I'm giving in and searching for a double stroller.
I'd like to stay away from the double wide type, seems impossible to get around in those. And I like the idea of the ones that convert to a sit-n-stand. My MIL is an angel and would like to get it for us, so I'd like to keep the price fairly reasonable.
What strollers did you moms of two have the best of luck with? I like to try to keep it as compact as possible too because trunk space is limited.
Thanks guys!
Re: Double Stroller Recommendations
Go to the store and try them out. I thought I would want a tandem (front and back) too until I actually tried one. They are impossible to turn.
We have a Baby Jogger City Mini double. I looooove it. It's never been too wide for a doorway and it's easier to push than my Chicco travel system single.

that could help! I have about a 7 year old phil & ted's and I love it. It has a hand-me-down from a friend and it rocks
Thanks everyone! Joelnrach-I'm going to try that one out in the store...looks like what I was going for, just hope it manuevers well.
I would mainly be using it for the mall and doctors appointments. Carriers didn't work well for me, so they were always put in a cart. Unfortunately, certain stores that we frequently visit don't have shopping carts, so I need to be prepared
We have, and love, a Contours Optima. It's a tandem and super easy to maneuver. You can change to positioning of the seats so the can both face forward, backward, each other etc. It's our everyday go to stroller and I'm so happy with it. The only drawback, no snack trays.
We also just got a Britax B Agile double for trips to the zoo or park. It's lightweight, steers great and they love both being able to look forward. It does fit through doorways with no issue. The basket underneath is a little small, but otherwise it's great.
I agree that it's great to test out the stroller first if you can, and really think about what you'll be using it for.
