We plan on transitioning after returning from our July 4th vacation. Grace will be 3 months old. We are ready! She has been STTN (10-12 hours!!) for almost one month now. Of course there will be bumps in the road, but it's time.
I do have a *tiny* feeling of reservation after reading so many articles encouraging co-sleeping/room sharing until 6 months to prevent SIDS, but with her sleeping so well, it seems like the right time to transition since she sleeps alone in our room from 6-11pm anyways. I mentioned it to my pedi and she seemed to agree.
Four months. We started by moving the bassinet into her room, next to the crib, to let her get used to the new room first. She still freaked out in the crib, until I put on a breathable bumper to block her view of the rest of the room. She had gotten used to self soothing by rubbing her hands along the mesh sides of the bassinet, so having a similar feeling bumper seemed to help.
We transitioned at 4 months. DS was in the bassinet part of his PNP and was getting way to big - the whole bassinet part would sway every time he moved. So we put him in the lower part of the PNP and he was just so uncomfortable. Up more than usual and tossing and turning. So that was the sign that it was time to transition. We all slept better! We sleep trained a few weeks later.
I was an early bird for this one. 3 weeks and we have not had an issue thanks to the monitor next to my side of the bed
Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p

SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!
Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!
I wanted to at a month old but DH wasn't ready, says he didn't want to walk across the house to do the MOTN feedings. We are finally moving DS next week. He's too big for the bassinet and is almost turning out of the bouncer so off he goes! He's been napping in there every day this week and has done well so I know it won't be a big deal on his end.

Good luck!

We are lucky cuz Hannah is such a quiet sleeper. DH recently wanted to move her, but work still needs to be done in her room. And then I found research that says you should keep them in your room till 6 months. So at 6 months we're gonna start the transition.

With my first three, I had them all in their cribs right around 3 months. Maren, however, is still in our room mainly because Sully is still in the crib and I'm worried if I put them together and she wakes up at night she'll wake him up.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
We use a bassinet in our bedroom, but usually baby ends up bed sharing with us. We Ferbered both boys at 3 mo. to the crib in the nursery for night time. They still mostly nurse napped in my arms during the day though.
We plan on transitioning after returning from our July 4th vacation. Grace will be 3 months old. We are ready! She has been STTN (10-12 hours!!) for almost one month now. Of course there will be bumps in the road, but it's time.

Penny, I was planning to room-share for 6 months based on the AAP recommendation. AS a result, we set up M's crib in our bedroom for that reason. BUT, by the time M was 4 months, we (DH, I and M) were ready for him to move out. M was getting more aware of his surroundings, so it was getting difficult to NOT wake him up at night when we went to bed, or even just turning in our sleep. I found myself lying still MOTN afraid to turn b/c I worried I might wake M up.
Anyway, we were going to move him right at 4 months, but 2 nights before that, M learned to roll from back to tummy (and then he'd wake up crying/screaming). I was too nervous to move him right then w/him sleeping face down buried in the mattress. So we waited for 2 more weeks until we felt more comfortable w/him sleeping face down before we moved him out.

We transitioned DD from the swing in the living room to the swing in her room at 2 months. Then moved her to her crib at 3 months. When she was in the living room I was on the couch.
With DS I slept on the couch with him in the RnP until 4 days ago so 3.5 wks. Now he is in his crib but I am sleeping in the bed in the nursery. Once he drops one of his night feedings I will move back to my room.

DS transitioned from a bouncer to a crib in our room at about 3.5 months. He slept in our room though until he was about 8.8/9 months. Honestly, I wanted him in our room until he was one. I guess I am not the in the norm on this.
After 4 years, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs our surprise miracle is here! My Blog
I want to wait to 6m but two things mean we are going to do it at 4.5m when we are back from vacation... 1. The 4m sleep regression is making me unhappy. 2. I will have a week of vacation left and then am back to work full time so it will be easier for everyone especially when I am working nights to have the sleep training done.
We are at 4 months now and none of us are ready. She either sleeps in the RnP or the swing and at least one of us is always in the same room as her. She is a great sleeper though so it hasn't been an issue yet. I suppose we will think about it around 6 months but I don't know...
LO is 4 months and will be tansitioning from the pack n play bassinet next to our ed o a cib next to our bed in the next couple of weeks. We will be keepong he in our room for the first year per aap guidelines.
