34w3d and so hard to breathe deeply!

My LO is sitting so high right now, right up on my diaphragm, that I am having a hard time getting in good quality breaths, no matter what position I am in. I know this is normal, but it's still annoying and I feel like part of my lethargy (I'm not just tired, but truly lethargic all day long) is due to low oxygen intake. Taking deep cleansing breaths is only slightly helpful, because my lungs just can't expand. Anyone in a similar boat have recommendations of positions, exercises, etc.?

Re: 34w3d and so hard to breathe deeply!

  • Keep hydrated. Even if you are peeing clear, just keep drinking water to help fend of the lethargic feeling. You'll likely experience the baby dropping in the next few weeks, so you'll get some lung space back at the expense of your pelvic region.
"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL

  • Try some cat and cow yoga poses to take the weight off your lungs. Sorry, this part stinks...

  • Drink lots of water and stand up. When you are sitting everything gets kind of squished. Trying holding your hands above your head for just a couple minutes...that might help.
